Had family meal here today. Lovely atmosphere, attentive staff and my mushroom wellington was just delicious. Plates went back fully emptied!! Would definitely return

Went for Sunday lunch,had not been in many years.
We had Roast beef and Roast Pork which were lovely cuts and tender with perfect rich gravy.
The veg was very nice - roast potatoes, carrots,brocolli,beans.
But we disliked having roasted cherry tomatoes,beetroot,Courgette and baby corn on our plates for a roast fayre.
Next time will ask for the regular veg as there was ample for two people.
Our Desserts were very lush,the Tiramisu and Basque baked cheesecake.

Love this place! Moved into the area, a little over a year ago. Started drinking in the Bellmans, and was welcomed by the staff almost instantly. The locals are friendly and welcoming, Dom the owner, fantastic man, great chef, always makes the effort to say hello and shake your hand, all the staff make the effort, every time you pop in. very much feel like a local myself now!

The landlord or main cheff Dominique & Matt the landlord, they are a double act !! Offer the friendliest service & have a varied menu of various cuts of steak & all trimmings, with a nice choice of Lagers & superb real ales..coffees are perfect, their main attribute is the after care, all executed with the friendliest personalities. You are sure to revisit & form or create The Bellmans Cross..

I am a well travelled gastronome & I rated this place very highly years ago but alas moved away 20 years back. I travelled 50 miles today to take a great old friend for a special lunch & it was super. Well done Dominique & the young lady, Rebecca, that looked after us. I went off piste with the a la carte lunch menu & everything was catered for ?without question or fuss? . I will return with my darling wife very soon. Thank you . Patrick

Popped in after finding a place we were going to try extremely busy and what a fantastic find. Excellent service and drinks proceeded a fantastic relaxed meal. Very fresh ingredients cooked to perfection. Can't wait to return.

An absolute gem! If you like delicious food, and I mean delicious! That is presented beautifully, with impeccable service then go here. We have been here twice and will definitely go again. If you like fish then I recommend the Lemon sole outstanding flavour and presentation. I can also recommend the fillet of beef, delicious flavour cooked to perfection. I wish I had belly room for 2.

Tired place in need of a revamp in terms of everything. The decor is so dated it's nearly funny. The menu feels like something nearly as dated as the decor.
Now for context I've eaten in some good French restaurants and quite a bit in France itself so i was hoping for something good when booking here. The reviews made it look great.
Walking in to the pub it feels homely but then you get lead to the restaurant which in all honesty need a complete refit, it feels like a nursing home.
Had a look down the menu in hopes that the food would shine and ordered the burrata starter followed by the fillet. The starter was ok, fairly bland but ok. The fillet though was overdone even though it was supposed to be medium-rare, the accoutrement was meagre and over-fussy which i can only assume was to try and make it look a bit more highbrow.
In summary if Gordon walked in here he would have a field day.

Perfect for lunch or dinner. An amazing menu, superb wine list and some very fine real ales. Views from the back are exquisite and the owner/chef and his staff are just brilliant. Very highly recommended.
