This gem of a place is highly recommended. I visited over the weekend and was very impressed with the measures still in place to protect people from COVID. The signs outside the shop make it quite clear that face coverings must be worn. I admire the owner who is very ill for remaining open and continuing to provide an excellent service. I was shocked to witness the way that some very selfish people shouted at her and called her rude yet they were the ones who ignored the signs. She was very polite in reminding them they needed a face covering. The ice cream was delicious, amongst the best I have tasted. We also sampled the delights from the tearoom, the cream tea was out of this world, as we're the sausage sandwiches. The quality of the food is excellent, the service from the staff is amazing and the prices very reasonable for what you get. Definitely recommend the shop and Riverside tearoom in Upper Arley and will visit again soon, it's a much nicer setting, on the riverbank, than the pub on the opposite site of the river. Thank you for everything you do and keep up the good work in keeping us all safe.

Awful customer service. Rude staff. My husband had our two children with him to get an ice cream and got told it was 2 people at a time. Our children are 2 and 6. The man behind the counter said leave the oldest one outside. Absolutely DISGUSTING considering it?s next to a river. 2nd time we went, my husband popped his head through the door to see if the tea room was open and he got his head bitten off by the women for not having a mask on! If you want your business to stay afloat, start by being kinder to your potential customers. Will not be retuning.

Shockingly rude owner!!! I?m local and visit Arley regularly but I will never use this business again!!! If I could leave a 0 star rating I would.

After a lovely day canoing we were stuck in Arley for a while waiting for a bus as no taxis were available. My husband tried to go into the post office to use the cashpoint. He is medically exempt from wearing a mask but had no chance to explain and was told \\\"off you go\\\" I then went in to the shop myself as we were still waiting for the bus 45 minutes later and thirsty. I had a mask on and tried to buy a small coke. The lady grinned at me and said £2.15 thanks to the sugar tax\\\". I said excuse me to her as that surely cannot be right. I was then told this wasn't a supermarket and off you go!! Never met such a lady so rude in my life!!! From looking at these reviews this kind of service is not uncommon from her

Really friendly staff, helped my girlfriend out after she fell off her bike. Thank you for helping her. Great tasting food too. Can't fault it.

Post office/Shop. Rude and Unwelcoming Only 2 allowed in shop, understandable with present Covid situation. However if the door is shut! It?s impossible to see how many people are actually in the shop and you don?t need to be insulted just by opening the door !!

Well that was a dispicable experience. The man behind the counter said he doesnt serve people who dont wear a mask. I said i was medically exempt but didnt want to see my proof. He explained his wife was vulnerable which is fine, however he goes on to say she wasn't on the premises. He refused to serve me 2 meters away also. He proceded to shout and become very angry and this resulted with the man coming within 2 meters of me and slamming the door in my face. Baring in mind he was not wearing a mask! He just didnt want to serve me from the begining. It was my children that wanted an ice cream, but how glad i am that i didnt support this man and his business.

This location is a dream. When the sun shines, you will be delighted by the countryside feel, and the mighty River Severn gushing past. It is all the better for being able to enjoy good quality hot drinks and snacks from the café.

Absolutely lovely tea room and shop. A wonderful place to pause on a walk along the river or during a trip on the Severn Valley Railway. duck food is available for the kids (or adults) who need entertaining. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating area alongside the river. I can recommend the bacon sandwiches and the cream teas.

Riverside tea room in Upper Arley. Opens at 10:30 to 16:00. Very pleasant sitting area across narrow road by riverside bank. Rather pricey sandwich and panini. Min cost £5-00 for sandwich. Tea/Coffee £2-75 to £4-00 plus depending on choice. Everything freshly made so there could be a wait if busy. Be warned, the sandwiches are very thick cut and more than amply filled. Very pleasant local ice cream on a warm day! Toasted panini are min £6-00 but have less bread content. Car park is further upstream leaving a bit of a walk back to the tea room. Pleasant staff and good locally sourced produce. Downside is that there are no facilities on site. Nearest toilets by car park entrance.
