Best fish & chips around by far. Orange/battered chips the best. Haddock is fabulous but also I absolutely love the kentucky breast chicken piece

During busy times there can be a 5-10 minute wait. Although there may not seem to be a system in place while waiting for food, the staff are very good at remembering faces and if you wait outside they will come out and shout out the order bagged up ready to go so you won't be forgotten.

Nice chips, bit too salty for me. Had to wait a while to get food after ordering as it looked like they were mostly serving those who went in to the restaurant side. At least they bought the food out in a large white paper bag. A lot of young staff work here, can get very busy here, seems a popular chippy near the riverside.

We had booked for a group of 13 people. They staff were so helpful and friendly. Food was quick, hot and hot plates and portion was just right. Thank you all good place to eat

Came to merchants fish and chips shop today I was excited to meet Chip shop diva but then the manager said she rung in sick I had the haddock chips and curry sauce very nice hopefully I will meet Chip shop diva next time.

Got fish and chips, busy place die to tourist, unfortunately they seem to under cook the chips when its busy, to the point, I threw 3 bags away when I returned home. They were pale, greasy, under cooked and stuck together. Fish was ok, but not the best. For the price they charge they need to vastly improve the chip quality. Last time we go here,

Fish and chips are great whether in or out! I do like to go and sit in and eat. Service is great. Staff are friendly, fish and chips are brilliant!

A bit disappointing last Saturday. We visit often and normally always great but on our latest visit the chips were like mush and the batter was soggy. Hopefully just an off day. It was very hot and I did feel for the staff working in that heat.
