Sloppy MOT left me with dangerous fault on car.Took car in for MOT on Wednesday (17/01), given clean bill of health except advisory on one back tyre. Immediately arranged for both back tyres to be replaced and took car in on Friday (19/01) morning to have this done. Friday (19/01) afternoon, about 2 hours after tyre change, I am driving and suddenly begins a horrible grinding noise when I press brakes. Fortunately I was not very far away so I immediately took car back to them and apparently my front brake pads are kaput - when I question why this was not reported on the MOT done at their garage only two days previous they give me some ridiculous guff about how the brake pads aren't checked on an MOT. This doesn't seem right to me, but I arrange to have new brake pads fitted; this work begins straight away. When I returned later to pick up my car, I bring a printout from their OWN website stating that brake pads are checked on an MOT and asked why, if my brake pads were that bad, my car passed its MOT they once again give nonsense about how they don't measure them physically (in spite of there being a legal minimum measurement before being given an advisory or failure) but only "look at them" to check them. When I asked how they measure them by "looking" I am once again fobbed off with nonsense.So anyway, they've changed both of my front brake pads and - entirely without prompting on my part - called some higher-up in the company to explain the situation. Lo' a miracle has occurred! In spite of the claim that there is no need to actually check brake pads on an MOT and none of this being their fault, I only have to pay for parts and not labour! How amazing! - The fact that they've done this without me even making much fuss at all indicates to me that they know full well they've made a mistake and the brakes have not been checked properly during the MOT - and leads me to wonder what else they didn't bother to check.Dangerous, sloppy work that could have led to a severe accident, and it's just ridiculous because I would have paid them to replace my brake pads if they had just told me it was necessary. I already booked in for tyres because of the advisory on MOT; I could have had both things done at the same time no problem and paid the full cost no problem. I want my car to be safe.Very patronising towards me about the whole thing. Huge amount of attitude that I dared to even question the ludicrous suggestion that brake pads are not checked on an MOT. The outcome of this ridiculous and pointless saga is that I no longer trust them to do a good job on anything. The whole purpose of having an MOT is to check the whether a car is roadworthy. If my front brake pads needed replacing so badly that they failed utterly after just 2 days and left me grinding the calipers against the discs, when I had driven my car less than ten miles in the interim, this should have been flagged on the MOT; in fact my car should have failed the MOT entirely and to suggest otherwise is preposterous drivel. The fact that not only did my car pass, but passed without any advisory on brake pads that failed completely within 48 hours concerns me greatly. I will not be returning to this garage for any reason in the future and nor will anyone in my household. I will also be having my car checked again elsewhere because I do not trust a single thing on the MOT this cowboy outfit just gave me.

Don?t do MOT there! We did ours and our car failed which was alright. We did fix the problem and booked retest. That person who did ?retest? just went in to the car and said that it?s not fixed. All retest took half a minute. When we said it has been fixed in a garage he just laughed to our faces. Different MOT place said car is completely FINE!!!!! Absolutely rude stuff. We are never coming back there.

Not the quickest of service 80 minutes to do two tyres they seemed to prioritise other jobs, even though my car was on the bench.

New tyre fitted following non-repairable puncture. Tyre was not a standard stock item, but it had been ordered in case it was needed after the tyre was inspected. Quick service and everything done to the usual high standard. Many thanks.

Absolutely fantastic service from the team today, we turned up late in the day when they were already fully booked to get our ambulance which had a poorly tyre replaced. They fixed us and got us back on the road (with a smile) making them late leaving. Thank you to all involved we really appreciated your support. Highly recommend service is outstanding.

If you are going to use a MOT booking system then you need to keep to the schedule. Arrived on time then had to wait 40 minutes. However, price was only £27 through online booking, cheapest price in the area.

I had my car booked in at 9.15 am for an MOT and service. I got told I'd get a call when the car was ready. I did indeed get a call about 10.30 to say it had failed the MOT and did I still want to go ahead with the service, I said yes, as what I was told the car had failed on wasn't that much. I waited all day to get a call ,but didn't get one, so at 5 pm I thought I best go there and see what was happening. I got the car back but was told they wouldn't be able to do the work on the cat to pass the MOT before the free retest was due. I suspect this is because it was a free MOT with my service. The repair was categorised as a major defect so feel I shouldn't really be driving it. Clearly this garage don't really care if they leave you carless.
