Booked a table for five for Sunday lunch. Shown to a very nice window table in a newly decorated separate room off the main bar. Met the chef and the landlords and another very friendly family who were already seated. The servers were attentive and diligent. The owners were chatty and welcoming. The food was straightforward pub fare, but absolutely delicious - and we all tucked into the courtesy parsnip crisps (even the kids, which was a rarity). Cannot fault the atmosphere and service from this delightful pub and it's new owners (Tom and Terry) If you want a cosy, relaxed pub in a semi rural setting with a slice of country life and very friendly locals, you definitely want to pay The Barleycorn a visit!

We visited for dinner while staying in the area. Lovely pub with a really warm welcome. Really friendly atmosphere and ambience. The landlords were such lovely people. The food was spectacular - we had the pie and the fish and chips. Huge portion and delicious! We would love to return!

We have lived in the village for 30 years and love the new landlords. My 94 year old dad and his partner stayed on Friday? Tom made sure they got a ground floor room. Dinner was lovely, the place is warm, friendly and now buzzing with enthusiasm. They were cosy and slept well, breakfast was exactly what they wanted and even a present for the birthday girl!We have our village pub back! ??

Great pub, friendly and lovely food, Terry and Tom put heart and soul into running it and can't do enough for you. Friendly local people in the bar and a fun atmosphere. This is a proper country pub, highly recommended.

This is my local public house and I am very happy to say it is a great one. Excellent food, a good selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and the Landlord and Landlady, Tom & Terry are two of the nicest, most down to earth people you could ask to meet.I now run our community 'Knit & Natter' there on a Saturday, and our friends and clients stay at the B&B when they come and visit us.A truly wonderful and traditional country pub!

How we managed to turn up at the wrong pub, in the wrong county and then wonder why they didn't have a booking for us is beyond me but then again when it comes to being a pair of muppets, we do it well! However, that mistake worked in our favour as it would have been silly to turn around and leave so food and drink was ordered. The lamb rump steak was cooked perfectly and the house recipe sausages are delicious. If you want good honest pub food cooked well, in a friendly village pub where you are made to feel welcome this is the place for you! Will definitely be visiting again and thoroughly recommended.

This was the worst Sunday lunch we have ever had. We had lamb which was inedible and the whole meal was tasteless. I had a large glass of Red wine which they charged me £14 for and my wife had a rose at £10.55. The whole experience was embarrassing, so we just paid and left. There was only one other table taken in the place and I am not at all surprised. Avoid this place .
