Chips were raw and had to be thrown straight in the bin. Pretty embarrassing being a chippy that cant even cook chips. Wont order again

Half cooked chips, what should probably be called a micro battered sausage instead of small, not to mention it tasted very off, and barely a sprinkle of cheese on the cheesy chips. Naff.

Disgusting saveloy, looks as if it was out of date when cooked,, rock hard, dark brown and shrivelled, cannot believe they wrapped and served this to a customer! Rang and they came up with excuses that it was just overcooked then hung up!

A perfect example of what a Fish and Chip shop shouldnt be. The chicken and mushroom pie we ordered was literally frozen solid in the middle, it was evident it had been taken straight out of a freezer and thrown into a microwave for a minute and that was it.
When you order food, you dont expect to have to cook at it home yourself!
The chips were undercooked, how on earth do you manage to undercook chips? Its the most basic part of running a fish and chip shop!
The fish was also undercooked, the batter was still doughy and not crispy at all. If you cant cook fish properly, How do you call yourself a fish and chip shop?
Then the battered sausage.... burning it BEFORE battering it? come on!
Some serious lessons need to be learned at this place before they can call themselves a fish and chip shop.
Stick to crappy kebabs boys!

I am a Regular. I have been for years. Trident has been my favourite place to get food and I can?t praise it highly enough. However, the ownership has recently changed.
I used to be welcomed in by Hassan and the Owner who I called ?Bossman?. Hassan was a staple of my life, a consistent who would always be there. Always happy, always had a smile, always welcoming and a genuine treasure.
Hassan and Bossman provided me many chats over the years, the best service and made me feel like family. I miss them and love them dearly.
Their food was always 10/10 and so was their service.
Under new ownership, you?re treated like a card transaction, not a friend. The quality of the food has dropped significantly. The people there are unwelcoming, do not speak to you and have no service whatsoever.
The battered sausage (a previous favourite of mine) is often now undercooked, the batter is chewy and the complete opposite of the heavenly treat it used to be.
The place is a shadow of its former self and it makes me sad every-time I come back to it.
The sense of a tight knit little community that Hassan and bossman created over the years, that family environment where everybody knew eachother is gone and it?s a shame to say the least.
I think I speak for everybody when I say, Hassan, Bossman. We miss you. Hope you?re well.

Called to asked if the food was gluten free as my son is celiac the lady?s response Yea yea yea! When question further she hung up the call, we then called back and she then said they only did gluten free Thursday and Friday! Make of that what you will

This place changed hands recently. Our food tonight was not quite as good as previously. My husband's fish n chips was not quite crispy. My kebab was ok but was very short on both salad and sauce. Very much chicken n pita bread. MORE SAUCE PLEASE! And salad.
Dietary restrictions: Gluten free fish n chips on Wednesday and Thursday.

Don't buy the battered sausage. Under any circumstances. As others have also mentioned, the batter on them is inedible. The sausages weren't much better. The chips aren't too bad. The fish portion is big, but the batter is really soggy.Unfortunately another chippy turned kebab house.

Have been a regular for 3 years. The food and service have not faltered since day 1. Absolutely fantastic. Ishmael the owner and his son Hasan are only too keen to provide you with a good choice on the menu at good value for money. My No.1 go to for fish and chips and the delicious kebabs. Well done gentleman. ?

Can?t fault the service, very good from start to finish, however??. Batter on both Fish and sausages was so doughy, and so much of it! The texture of the batter was almost the same as a donut, not good. Photos are just some of the removed batter, there was equally as much on everyone else?s plate. Good points, the actual cod was very nice, bad points, chips, just about cooked, I personally like my chips a little more crispy than these were.Battered sausage were not good, too much batter and sausage a little flavourless.I think if they had the batter a better consistency, more crispy, less of it, and cooked the chips for longer it would have made a nicer meal.
