For the last 6 years I have been organising a college reunion at the hotel and this year it was the best yet. The hotel is in a lovely location, the staff were very professional and a delight. The food and service was excellent and the accommodation very comfortable.

Pleasant Stay with a Few Room Comfort Issues
My wife and I booked a couple of days at Stanton House Hotel for a peaceful and quiet break, and overall, we had a lovely stay. We opted for a Superior Room, though to be honest, the main difference from a standard double seemed to be that the bed and room were slightly larger.
While the room was clean, it didn?t quite live up to the ?superior? label. It was very warm, even with the heating off, due to hot water pipes running through the radiators. The furniture felt a bit tired?one chair had a loose leg, and the carpet was lifting at a join. The mini fridge worked, but it had clearly seen better days: it was a little dirty, and the door seal was broken.
The room itself felt a bit drab?a few touches like artwork or even a plant (fake or real) could go a long way in making it more inviting.
The bathroom was quite cramped. The bath looked old, the taps were stiff and coming loose, and the toilet was awkwardly placed in a small cubby near the door. It actually moved when you sat on it, and there was barely space to use it comfortably.
That said, the hotel grounds and scenery were beautiful. We had a stunning view from our room window, which made a big difference to our stay. The restaurant service was excellent?friendly and professional?and the food was great, especially breakfast, which was freshly cooked and of very good quality. Definitely one of the highlights.
Overall, we enjoyed our time, but the room could use a bit of TLC to bring it up to the ?superior? standard expected.

I recommend this hotel because the room was pleasant and the gardens beautiful. However it must be said that we arrived late at 8.30 and sat down for supper at 8.50 but they made it clear that the kitchen closed at 9.00 and it really did; they didn?t really want to serve us and whilst the food was filling it was nothing special. They reluctantly served us a cold pudding at the same time as the main course.
Because we stayed in the weekend of the Royal Air Tattoo, the price of the room was increased by 100 per cent. We didn?t really have any other options as we booked late . Had the rooms been cheaper the hotel would probably been fully booked, no one could afford these prices

Such a calm and peaceful area, good location , lovely staff and service. Amazing place for weddings, events or special occasions. Definitely highly recommend, you won?t be disappointed.

Lovely venue, but function room charges have gone up, and quality and quantity of food has gone down. Such a shame.

popped in to the conservatory to have a spot of lunch and we must say it's a great place to eat- lovely food, great service and the surroundings are fabolous - take a look a the photos, don't miss the run down grandous garden with the pond - looks like nature could take over at any moment - but for the time being man is winning.

An excellent choice for a two night break. Faultless surroundings and staff who proactively dealt with any issues that arose. Highly recommended.

Quiet location. Large restaurant and bar. A couple of maintenance issues. The lift didn't work. Toilet was hard to flush. Also kept running and took some fiddling to stop it running. Poor pillows. Small room.
