Switched from First Direct to Nationwide for banking. What a mistake. Was supposed to get £200 for switching but because I hadn?t used my debit card they refused to pay me. I explained extenuating circumstances but to no avail. They do not treat you as an individual customer. I shall be closing my account and also switching my mothers account to a better provider. They are very very unhelpful.

Had a call from nationwide swindon this morning about unusual activity asking me to call then back. I called them back. I didn't get the name of the man I spoke to, we spoke about the issue and he told me I WAS LIEING and that I should call them back after I have had a think about what had happened. Shocking that they lock your account and you can't pay your bills as a result, along with trying to unrestricted the account and being told to you over the phone that you are LIEING. Also if you read other reviews and responses from customers and the staff at nationwide, the nationwide response is pretty much all the same, just copied and pasted. There needs to be an email for the bank too, to make more accessible and so they can havd written complaints too.

Rang nationwide monmouth this morning.I didn't get the name of the person I spoke with but absolutely no help at all I was still trying to talk to her and no warning just put through to head office.i was advised they only take appt bookings and tell customers the opening times.I now have just spoken to head office delightfully lady called Daisy who was so helpful all sorted out for me. I did suggest she goes to Monmouth to train them.Thank you so much Daisy you are a credit to Nationwide

I find it amazing that I cannot send an email directly to Debbie Crosbie to outline my recent negative, and positive, experiences with Nationwide. Of course I do not expect her to deal directly with the issues I seek to raise, but do expect to be connected with a colleague of hers to outline both my issues and concerns. I believe it may be easier contacting the Pope!!!!
I have nothing but praise for those to whom I have spoken concerning my bank accounts and debit cards. The complete lack of respect and service rests with those to whom I attempted to speak to concerning the Nationwide credit card. My visit to a Nationwide branch today confirmed the frustration of your branch manager in dealing with your credit card arm, the staff there do not display any interest, or commitment, in assisting Nationwide customers. I have names, times and dates. If any of you care please contact me and I?ll provide those details.

Nationwide as a business is awful. They do not care about their customers wellbeing. They create situations and when you call to fix that problem you are assured it's fixed. Only it's not fixed, not fixed even though you have been on the phone to them THREE times. Then they stop your card. They will repeatedly offer to instigate a complaint, but don't be fooled by that nonsense. It's to give you the impression that they actually listen and care which couldn't be any further from the truth. Once your complaint is investigated and they tell you they are ever so sorry for the poor level of service, lessons and unacceptable treatment they will refer to their old self. Don't bother with their specialist team, I believe this is some sort of training ground for the educationally subnormal cause they haven't got a clue.

Best company in existence will do everything they can to help you with a friendly helpful attitude. Please don't listen to the nay sayers Nationwide Is fantastic.

truro branch very poor customer service from manager, unable to use debit card as say its locked and they will sort it promptly ,refused to give nationwide email so had to get from FSA.this arose from me asking them to send a small amount to my friend of six years the manager gave false info to team who locked my card.they left me stranded at fuel station for over hour in a unsafe situation until they authorised payment ,absolutely disgusted

Atrocious ?service? level, including the ?complaints? team.
After calling them for 1 simple thing I was told to allow 3-5 days. And nothing happened. So I followed their instructions how to make a complaint. ? How to make a complaint - If you?d like to make a complaint, the quickest way is to message us through our online chat.? I entered chat and nearly 1 hour still in chat the (3rd?) agent (because they keep leaving the chat) says to call the same number again and ask them to do it again! I said where is my complaint? Obviously they were wasting time playing dodge registration of a complaint/dodge work and I had to press them so another 10 mins pass waiting and finally a complaint number. Total time 59 minutes lost of my holiday plus the initial phone call.

Applied for a 0% balance transfer and % purchases. There was no mention of any fee. This offer came up on my app. I came to do balance transfer and there is a 1.% fee. Cancelled card and complained to Nationwide for misleading me into applying for a product that I would not have done otherwise. How hard is it to include salient information in a headline offer

The financial promotion would have been sign off by their compliance department who are clearly crap. I will also refer this to the Financial Omnibus (I like to call them that) so they will have to pay them a fee for dealing with my complaint. Shove that in your pipe and smoke it.

I'm overjoyed with the service provided by the Nationwide building society... especially the fraud department for there diligence in my predicament with Bolt taxis robbing my account without my authorisation

Regrettably, we must lodge a complaint regarding an issue that arose unnecessarily with Nationwide. While filing a complaint may help resolve the problem, we were truly impressed by the way our complaint was handled. Liv, who work on our case, is an absolute star. Not only did he resolve the complaint efficiently, but he also offered invaluable advice and guidance on how to prevent similar situations in the future. 5 stars for Liv's exceptional service and for Nationwide that trained him.
