BEWARE! Parking charges!!!!
Whilst the store is great and has lots to offer, there are now parking charges for parking at the shop for longer than 2 hours. We were just over that time (choosing camping gear) so got a £100 fine!!!! Go Outdoors, so far, have been absolutely useless and say they cannot help. It?s ridiculous!!!

In store now and once again incorrect pricing and deals once at the till.
Not dealt with well so lost another star.
Keith was very helpful 5 out of 5 for him.
Infact only him and the lady on the till were helpful.
We visited on Thursday morning, it was quite quiet.
Keith was serving someone and called for someone else to come and assist.
We waited a while, noone came so we decided to leave. Keith came after us apologised profusely and said he would help as soon as he can. I said no complaint about you, but not one other member of staff can be bothered.( I could see staff wondering about too! )
If my son did not require a horse riding helmet I would not have bothered.
Disappointing customer service, so I won't be In a rush to return
The store is huge with lots of stock.

Another fantastic experience at Go Outdoors in Swindon today - assisted by Jo, Tom and especially Amelia.
We purchased an Outwell awning online from Blacks, only to find that both poles were missing. As an older product, it was understandable that there wasn't a replacement to be had anywhere, so we had no choice but to return (and Blacks purchases can be returned to Go Outdoors).
Looking forward to the additional space that our existing tent and awning was going to offer, and now disappointed that we'd be a little more limited, we decided that we may as well just purchase a new tent entirely!
Jo was great at trying to come up with solutions that allowed us to keep our existing tent, Tom went on the hunt in the stockroom for an alternative and Amelia remained with us on and off for our 90+ minutes of shopping time.
Only last year we commended the same store for their exceptional service - being so very helpful when buying two very basic and inexpensive camp beds. Just as staff then couldn't do enough to help, the same was the case today.
As a larger store, Swindon has a huge variety of items available with competitive pricing, and evidently it's somewhere with exceptional service and product knowledge too.
What a contrast to Blacks' own customer service helpline, which proved not to be terribly helpful.

Fantastic customer service from Jay! We were looking for hiking shoes and he was very helpful and got different sizes and styles for us. We spent so long in the store browsing backpacks and tents too (there?s a wide range of products), and when we saw Jay again later on he asked if we were aware of the parking limit of 2 hours. We weren?t aware but Jay helped and resolved it promptly so we avoided a fine! Great store and staff.

We popped in to buy some walking trousers, queued and were served by a lovely young lady who half way through our transaction handed over to a lad so they could swap positions (she now went to greeting at entrance and he served us). She explained twice what had been scanned already then left. Once the lad had finished our sale we left and when I checked the receipt we had been charged twice for an item. Mistakes happen but on returning within 5 mins of exiting we were then told we had to queue again to have the situation rectified. Personally I would have ensured our refund was rectified immediately and taken us to a free till to sort immediately. The service wasn't the quickest to begin with so all in all our overall experience was not great. May I suggest that team members Co plete their transaction with their customers to avoid issues like this arising in future.
