Was pretty empty when I was there. Sam the bar lady was lovely though. The Arkell wasn't bad either. I had some fish n chips. Which hit the spot.

We to The Rat Trap today with a friend. 1st time I'd had a roast there. Im known to be a fussy eater. It was the best roast I'd ever had dinning out. Absolutely perfect. The staff are always so welcoming. They work very very hard. It was packed when we got there, however, we still had our meals within 15mins. It was delicious. Love love this place. X

Just had afternoon tea as part of a baby shower in the function room. Happy to say as someone who eats a gluten Free diet, I was extremely well catered for! So much so I had to bring a doggy bag home! Lovely sarnies and a good selection of cakes. The function room was cool and airy. Great venue

My husband and I booked the Rat Trap for our 50th wedding anniversary celebration . The room we had comfortably took 60 people (seated). Jess and her crew couldn't do enough for us. The food was amazing, all freshly prepared the same day, including a delicious curry , chilli, chips ,rice and a salad bar as well as sandwiches and other cold buffet food. There was also a selection of homemade cakes. They tailored everything to what we wanted and also helped with the music and decorations . We can't praise them enough.

This place wasnt great for many reasons. There wasn't many people eating here at all maybe 3 tables upon arriving!
When we arrived there was no one on the restaurant side.... all staff were in the bar side!
I went to the bar to order the food and a drink and i was stood there for at least 5 minutes before anyone served us. No sorry to keep you waiting etc.
Ordered the food which wasnt great I had a rump steak which i ordered medium rare it was tough and no juices running through... It was so dry and flavourless it literally was the worst steak I've ever had without a shadow of a doubt.... The service as previously stated was shocking... The atmosphere was non existent and the place seemed so dirty! Wont be back dont see how this is highly rated... Its poor wont be back. I left all my meal practically which is unlike me!

I am coeliac and there was a good selection of gluten free food. Shame the brewery gf ale wasn't available.
Nice food, service was a bit slow but busy as was function on in the other room.
