The pub is cozy and beautifully decorated. The staff are very friendly and the food is excellent. Surprise find for us. One of the most beautiful pubs & restaurant that I've been into! ?

Wonderful Country Pub. Highly recommend the Goats Cheese starter and Lamb main. If you?re looking for a traditional British pub this is it.

Just wanted to write to say thanks so much for hosting us on Friday. It was the perfect venue and your staff were all so friendly and professional. The pizza was a particular favourite!

The Rattlebone has clearly changed hands since our last visit. Food was fantastic (I had the rump of lamb and it was cooked to perfection), service was good and the place was busy with locals and visitors and had a great vibe to it.

Good food, friendly and attentive service, decent range of beers and wine, absolutely beautiful building in a beautiful village. I'd have given it five stars, but the toilets were a bit of a state - if they could stay on top of that, this would be a real gem. (Not that it was bad enough to stop me going back for a second meal on our holiday.)

Had a wonderful time at the Rattlebone Inn for an event. It was very busy but staff did an excellent job and the food was fantastic. We will certainly be returning again to sample more of the offerings. Great country pub with a fabulous atmosphere

We had lunch with my family : the food was lovely and the service was nice.
But I have to report that the picture of the 3 naked women in the corridor leading to the toilets is not proper for children eyes.

First time at this gorgeous older worlde pub. Lovely atmosphere, excellent service and lovely food. Seven of us had pre- ordered our food before attending a play by a local am-dram group (??). It all came out piping hot and delicious. Will definitely revisit.

We were searching the Internet for a restaurant that was open on a Monday evening that was local to Great Somerford, where my son and future daughter in law lives at the moment. Also, somewhere that served something we all wanted to eat, we have varied tastes. The Rattlebone came up, and we booked a table online.
What a gorgeous cotswold village is Sherston, and a traditional looking pub is the Rattlebone!
We ordered mushroom and garlic soup, and
Followed by rump steak, rib eye steak, and chicken skewers. Then chocolate brownie and cherry frangipane tart. Everything was absolutely delicious, presented beautifully, hot, and large portions. We all struggled to eat it all but managed the majority of it, too good to leave it. The staff were both friendly and polite, very cheerful and efficient service. The atmosphere was lovely. Another nearby table was being used, and the bar had a few customers in. We all agreed we would definitely go back there to eat again, and we would highly recommend this place. A* we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Compliments to the chefs. Thank you.

Our lunch here on Mothering Sunday was absolutely superb. All mums in our group were given a complimentary glass of prosecco on arrival, a wonderful gesture . I chose the 3 meat roast, pork, beef and chicken, with all the trimmings,
delicious, would so recommend, oh and the cheesy leeks are a good meal in themselves, scrumptious... I have to say, the young barmen on duty that day worked their socks off, nothing was too much trouble, even on such a packed busy day. They are a credit to their manager and the owners of The Rattlebone. We enjoyed it so much , we've booked for Easter Sunday. I would also recommend booking for Sundays as they do get very very busy.

The sunday roast was delicious. The staff super attentative. It was very busy as it was Mother's day and all tables booked, so we waited an hour for main meal and half an hour for dessert. Just two niggles. Bread and butter pudding should be light and full of flavour having soaked up the custard and marmalade/jam preferably over night.
The custard tasted of custard powder, it wasnt cooked out and shouldnt be the consistency of watery single cream. Charging £3.90 for a glass of water, not a sealed bottle of water, is outrageous.

Great meal here for a midweek meet up with 5 friends. Staff could not have been more helpful. Excellent menu supplemented by specials with excellent ales.
