Something between pub and resturant, we had the fish and chips but there is no usual sides like curry sauce or mushy peas in the menu, few dishes on the menu and it was a bit odd we had to order and pay over the counter before we sit down, over all quite avarage restaurant.

First impression was good - tidy place, comfortably furnished, good reception from the guy "in charge". I enjoyed the all day breakfast, served exactly as i'd requested ... weakest point .. the sausage. My chum was not impressed - he had the ham and cheese toastie - flavourless with tired old chips. My coffee was smooth and flavourful but my chum was less than impressed by his tea being served in a coffee cup.I'd go back but he wouldn't.The waitress was bright and efficient all in all happy to have left a tip.As an aside, I'm glad to see that this is an offshoot of the carwardines that I frequented when I came to Bristol in 1989 - so sorry that the business closed

Popped in here just after xmas 23 as all other venues were full. My partner and I both had toasties that came with chips and a "salad." We both agreed it was awful...probably the worst food we have ever had in an eatery. the toasties were virtually inedible...the chips were not nicely cooked and the "SALAD" was one small iceberg lettuce leaf chopped into little pieces. TBH it was an insult to our intelligence...Needless to say we will never go back...Very amateurish. Do yourself a favour...Eat elsewhere

The waitress was polite but the food was disgusting - rotten salad and a toasted sandwich that was uncooked and tasted like plastic - inedible! Also the tap water smelt foul and couldn't be trusted. Surprisingly bad standard for an eating place in Salisbury.Vegetarian options: Poor

What a great little place. We managed to get a table for six on our first lunchtime in Salisbury as the place was very busy. We may have outstayed our welcome somewhat as we were the last to leave as they closed at 4pm. Anyway we all had sandwiches and drinks which were all superb. The only draught beer they have is Heineken which was fine. They have several other beers in 500ml bottles. The six lunches we had were all excellent and being in a warm cosy atmosphere was just what we all needed. Staff were excellent and the quality of food and service was perfect.

Both coffees (different types) were very weak which was disappointing. However, a good range of breakfast food options. We had cooked breakfasts, which were both excellent but plates cold, so food went cold before we could eat it all (minor point). StFf friendly and table / utensils etc clean.Dietary restrictions: Has gluten free options.Parking: None as it is in the centre of Salisbury . I say this for reference of others, not a complaint!!
