I can?t say enough about this place. Honest, fresh cooked food at an honest price. The roasts are to die for. Not tired veg or dried out meats. The proprietors or professional and, more importantly, very friendly. Home made gravy!! Yum!!!!

Have been 4 times through necessity and sadly it is always empty and properly passively unfriendly. No recognisable draft beer or cider. It's for locals I think. Avoid.

Fantastic. A genuinely brilliant and most typical example of an English public house. Beer was great and the banter from the barman was worth the visit in itself. We'll definitely be back.

We briefly visited here last week. It was deserted. Only really after a drink after a long drive. A barman with nothing about him and not very good ale. I think there were two locals in the other room. I was expecting them to call through, don't go on the moors, werewolf rip your throat out....

Fish was overcooked and hard. Home made lasagne was microwaved. Could not eat outside in the beer garden. Inside was small and cramped

When we went here there were only 2 beers on tap/cask. Not a much of a selection. The bartender, Joghurt (Yogurt), wasn?t hospitable. If you aren?t going to offer a lot for selection and not be friendly? I don?t get it.After meeting other people around town, I was met with eye rolls and rye smiles after they heard we went to the Crown. Then told very similar stories of their experiences. Glad it?s not just us? but wow. Even the people we were staying with said, ?I went there once and never went back because of the chap behind the bar.?There are other places to go have a pint. Do yourself a favor and skip this one.And no, I?m sure it was this pub. I?m not confused. If you only have a few employees, it?s either yourself or one of them.I gave you the name I received. Phonetically. It?s funny that you don?t know who I?m talking about because when I said the name in town, everyone else knew EXACTLY who I was talking about.

After been to Pewsey for so many years we never tried or visited the Crowns even though it is less than 5 located to our house!! Simply, because my mother in law was often cooking and quite honestly speaking after try Crowns roast Chicken there is no comparison!! My MIL?s roast is by far much better and more deliouse!! However, if your MIL is not cooking for you because you have not brought her some sweet from Bahrain, than Crowns is the ideal place to go!! I was so hungry so I ate my full meal as soon as my order was served on the table!!! I then complimented the chef even though my Yorkshire pudding was burnt!!

Just don?t! One of the owners, the younger one is a bully and seems to get a kick out of standing over women and humiliating them. He doesn?t like women. He also said racist things about my driving and was rude to me about a fellow patron in the pub, who happens to be a gay man! He?s just horrible. The parents were okay, but their son is a problem. Especially if you?re a woman travelling on your own! I did not feel safe.

If you?re canal boating, don?t bother with the 20 mins walk into town. No food service on Tuesday. Bar person was not friendly and when asked if I could have ice for my gin and tonic, he said no! No apology or explanation? just no!

The only full-size pub in Pewsey with a real cider. Served me some well-kept Malvern Gold, in an appealing house with no muzac.Poetry event in the bar on the 1st Thur of the month and folk music on the 4th Thur. Food on Friday evenings and Sunday lunches.

Booked in advance via phone for table of 7 with extended family. Mainly because one of our party was taking the train back to London. Boy, I'm glad we stopped by. A hidden gem. Home cooked food with a good selection of beers, unfortunately we had designated drivers in our party, so not able to taste the beers and ales this time. We tried to buy some bottles to take home, but alas, they were too popular and there was sadly none to be had. Never mind, it gives us an excuse to return. We all really enjoyed our Sunday lunches. Home cooked food, with options for the vegetarians in our party. Puddings were the only dilemma, choosing only one was difficult as they all sounded good. I had home made spotted dick with custard, which was fantastic but equally others in our party had the meringue, ice cream and warm chocolate cake. All really good with generous portions. Service good and a roaring open fire. We hope to return.

Yet another visit to The Crown, this time staying in their en-suite accommodation. Fantastic hospitality as always and a choice of Sunday lunch dishes for the vegan so she was more than happy. Highly recommended!

Great pub and the ales brewed on site are excellent.

Cosy little pub on the Wilcot Road in Pewsey. Friendly staff, good range of drinks, foods, and lots of events throughout the week. Really nice.
