A lovely old country pub. We stayed overnight while hiking from Avebury to Stonehenge and were made very welcome. Great hearty meals, comfortable simple but clean and comfy room. We particularly enjoyed chatting with the manager Kuba and the other friendly locals. Really good value for the area also. Definitely recommend!Rooms: Rooms a bit worn, but clean, quiet and comfortable. Good value.Walkability: We walked into the village from Avebury (25km away) so absolutely walkable! Small pathways lead through the fields to nearby villages.Food & drinks: Simple but well done classic pub mealsNoteworthy details: The manager Kuba is fantastic - he did a great job juglling the bar, accommodationand meals. We really enjoyed chatting with him after dinner ?

Disappointing to get to a pub to find that contrary to its published opening times it is in fact closed.Website states on a Fri open 12.00 - 23.00. Arrived at 16.20 to be told by a member of staff that they didn't start serving until 17.00.A journey wasted.

It's all good in the Antelope! There are some terrible reviews of the Antelope on Tripadvisor but we really enjoyed our stay. It is clean and well kept. The service was prompt and polite. My wife was expecting to see a large mouse in the toilet as suggested by one reviewer below but was disappointed not to see this form of mammal life. In fact everything was fine and as you would expect. Our room was comfortable and had all amenities including a fridge. We enjoyed a pleasant evening meal the home cooked Caribbean Crumble being the high point. It seemed to attract plenty of locals for a Friday night pint and/or food, and those of staying from further away. OK this isn't the most exciting venue we have stayed in Wiltshire (Zeals/Aldbourne/Cricklade) but the only material criticism was Maxwell House coffee for breakfast rather than real coffee ( the rest of the cooked English Breakfast was lovely). In short it is a lovely pub/hotel, has decent food, a good selection of drinks and Upavon is a beautiful Wiltshire village, so highly recommended. I am not sure what inspired some of the misleading negative reviews here on Tripadvisor.

Shame we only stayed for one night. It's very Dog friendly and they don't charge you extra for your Dog. Irina our Dog was very comfortable staying here. We had a lovely time. Great place to stay. The bed was soooo comfy. It had a nice shower . It was clean & tidy.We ate our evening meal there too the pizza was absolutely delicious. And the sticky toffee pudding didn't last long!The staff were very nice & helpful especially Kuba ? it was nice meeting you.Food & drinks: Food was great lots of options.Noteworthy details: Dog friendly

We stopped for a quick lunch & break from driving. The overall vibe in the bar is either quaint & charming or tired depending on your viewpoint. However the welcome was warm and we picked a table and ordered beef burgers & chips. We were delighted with our meals the chips were golden & crispy, the burger fresh and tasty, not too much salad & slime like other chain burgers, they were delicious.

I was cycling past and stopped to stay here. Friendly pub, clean room, good service and my cheeseburger was really excellent. What?s not to like!

The Antelope has its own private parking behind the hotel, 2 mins from reception so very easy with luggage. We were given a warm greeting on arrival and found a super comfortable bed & huge bath in the room, which was very clean and quiet. We had a great night's sleep! Very good breakfast and very helpful service as we were seated outside the main dining area. Very dog friendly, treats provided, lots of water bowls! We enjoyed our stay & will return if in the area.

It has been years since I have stayed away from home and the Antelope was excellent in every way. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable accommodation, great pizza in the evening and a good breakfast. If ever I am in Wiltshire again I shall stay at the Antelope.

Had a two night stay here and wasn?t impressed! Checked in with builders working and a skip outside. First night had a meal which was adequate at best then in the morning requested breakfast for 9am which another couple staying did as well?didn?t get served until 9:45. As well as builders working away making lots of noise. Then on check out I went to the main gents toilet to find a big mouse waiting for my arrival!! Only saved from a 1 star as the room was comfy with big bathroom!
