Excellent setting. Excellent, old fashioned service but main course food portions on the stingy side hence the rating.

Really enjoyed our stay, hotel was in a great location for exploring Stonehenge, Bath, Salisbury & historic sights in-between. Our room was stunning & the staff were very attentive. Just a small suggestion that it would have been nice if you could of had brown bread for toast at breakfast as it wasn't an option.

We only spent a night there. The room was nice but we could feel a draft when in bed possibly coming from the windows. The bed was too soft for us but that?s a personal liking. The bathroom only had a bath, with no shower curtain so you only have a chance to have a bath really. I think a walk in shower would be better and more environmental friendly.
The dinner at their restaurant was good. And breakfast was even better.
Thank you

Another great stay at The King's Arms. This time sadly staying for Mum's funeral but we were upgraded to a better room and allowed to check out later at no extra cost. Fantastic service from the lady who checked us in (sorry I didn't get her name)
Rooms: The rooms are lovely, we have stayed many times and had a variety of different rooms. They have all been really nicely decorated/furnished and well laid out, dressing table with mirror and convenient plug socket for hairdryer ( this may sound basic but it's amazing how many hotels don't even think of this! Many places I've stayed I've had to sit on the floor drying my hair with the hairdryer wire half way across the room! Or even drying my hair blind! No mirror)
Another good thing is the flask of fresh milk, lots of places we have stayed we have had to pop out and buy milk, keeping it on the window ledge to try and keep it cool! ( and none of those awful sachets of uht milk ?)
Each room we have stayed in has ironing facilities and a good hairdryer too ( a proper one, not one of those silly things in the bathroom that are useless!)
Food and drinks: Good selection at breakfast, although personally I would like some fresh fruit & a cereal choice as don't always fancy a cooked option), but if you like a cooked breakfast there are lots of options.

Lovely pub in great location with its own car park.
Nearby activities: Lots of other pubs and restaurants nearby.
Noteworthy details: Great pub right next door.
Filter coffee maker in bedroom-we were even given extra milk in a thermos flask.

We were made to feel very welcome upon arrival and checked in early. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Rooms: The rooms were tired. The bathroom was adequate but shabby. The bed was comfortable. Tea & coffee area was restrictive and power points were limited.
Food and drinks: Beautiful evening meal and perfect Full Breakfast the following morning. Sunday morning's breakfast was cold - overdone eggs and ham was disappointing.
However we were refunded £30 for the disappointing breakfast.

My only thing i would say, and this is nit a complaint, just a suggestion, is that it would be nice to have tbe option at breakast to help yourself to, things like extra toast, jams, pastries, orange juice etc ?
Rooms: Beautiful room! Clean, comfortable bed, cookies and tea and coffee! Just lovely!

Check in was friendly and simple, the fM radio playing as you entered the bedroom was a nice touch, it provided a very warm welcome, as did the personally addressed welcome letter.
The bar had a good choice of Butcombe Ales, and the staff very attentive.
Breakfast was made to order and really sets you up for the day ahead.

Our first time staying here and it was fabulous. The room, the food, the staff were all fabulous. We have already booked a return visit.
Rooms: We had a lovely apartment for 4 although we were only 2. Quiet and comfortable.
Food and drinks: Both dinner and breakfast were excellent. The dinner menu had choices not normally found on menus. What a treat.
