On the plus side, for an Express store it is quite large and stays open until 23:00 daily, even on Sundays.
The range is reasonable and shelves are usually quite well stocked.
However, there's often a lot of food that expires the same day. If you shop late, items might be out of date in just over an hour I've only noticed this after getting home or the next day when the food had already expired.
I also recently bought milk that was clearly off, even though it was still within its use-by date (can't think of the last time I've had that happen).
Overall, stock management doesn't seem great and I would double check the dates before buying from here or go elsewhere.

The shop itself is fine but the staff need a refresher in customer service.

Absolutely appalling experience every time ? Tesco Bowerhill needs serious improvement
I rarely write reviews, but after multiple disappointing visits to Tesco Bowerhill, I feel compelled to share my experience in the hope that something changes ? though judging by the way this store is run, I?m not holding my breath.
To put it bluntly, this is one of the most unpleasant Tesco stores I?ve ever had the misfortune of shopping in. The staff are consistently rude and unapproachable. There?s an overwhelming sense that customer service is at the very bottom of their priorities ? if it even registers at all. There?s no warmth, no courtesy, no basic manners. Most of the time, you?re lucky to get a grunt or even eye contact. It?s as if the very presence of customers is an inconvenience to them.
And to be clear ? this isn?t a dig at Tesco as a whole. I?ve been to Tesco stores all over the UK and had consistently positive, even excellent, experiences. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, organised stores. It?s clear in those places that customer satisfaction matters. Which is why Tesco Bowerhill stands out so badly ? and not in a good way.
It genuinely makes me wonder ? do Tesco actually put their staff through any form of customer service training? Because from what I?ve experienced in this store, it certainly doesn?t look like it. If they do, it?s clearly not working. The lack of basic people skills, patience, and professionalism is shocking for a company of Tesco?s size and reputation.
One of the biggest issues is the way the staff stock the shelves. It seems to happen at all hours of the day, with trolleys and cages of stock carelessly abandoned in the middle of the aisles, blocking access and making it impossible to shop comfortably. They move around like they?re competing in a timed race, not caring that they?re barging past customers or blocking entire sections of the store. There?s no ?excuse me?, no offering to help ? just a rushed, aggressive energy that makes the whole shopping experience stressful.
There?s absolutely no regard for the people trying to do their shopping. If you ask a question or try to get past, you?re met with blank stares, dismissive responses, or worse ? outright attitude. The staff always look miserable and stressed, never offering a smile or a friendly word. It?s clear morale is low, but that should never be passed onto paying customers.
And this isn?t just coming from me ? it?s a resounding notion in the local community. I?ve heard the same complaints from countless people in the area, many of whom now avoid this store altogether. Word of mouth carries weight, and sadly, Tesco Bowerhill has built itself a reputation for all the wrong reasons.
The overall atmosphere in the store is frankly depressing. There?s no order, no friendliness, and no evidence that the management care about the shopping experience. You walk in and instantly feel like you?re in the way. It?s hard to believe this is part of the Tesco brand ? the difference in quality compared to other branches is staggering.
If you value decent customer service, a welcoming environment, and the basic ability to shop without being treated like a nuisance, I strongly recommend going elsewhere. Until this store addresses its obvious issues with staff attitude, training, and in-store management, it will remain a dismal place to shop.

I am disgusted with the service you provide. I ordered £50 worth of items and got £18 worth. Every time we have given you the benefit of doubt but this poor service keeps happening. I will not recommend you to anyone very poor service. We have used Whoosh several times and it's been very crap. Disgusting.

Limited selection, but most essentials available. Staff smiley and efficient. But so far as I could see, no bike rack.

I returned to the UK after a long stay abroad, and needed to ask some rather odd questions about shopping, paying, and packing my groceries when I reached the till. The guy that served me was very kind and respectful, and helped pack my bags too. Thanks for your support!
Incidentally, another reviewer commented about the freezers not working. I noticed while I was in there that customers kept grabbing stuff out of the fridge and leaving the doors wide open, so I kept shutting them manually. I wonder if the freezers suffer the same fate.

Why on earth is this a Hermes/Evri drop off point if the manager wouldn't allow "her staff" to take the parcels? Put a note on the door if you can't be bothered to do the job, saves people wasting time queuing up! Beyond terrible customer service and experience. Not to mention the passive aggressive attitude and comments being thrown around in there by the manger and staff.

They advertise themselves as EVRI / Hermes drop off point but during 2 weeks time I have been told at last 5 times that they are unable to accept parcels because they have no room for them. Just stop offering services which you are unable to provide! Waste of time.
