A practice in chaos.
January 2024 by John Blackburn
By far the worst Medical Practice I have ever been a member of in my life. Seen a GP for the first time only in the past month after Three years living in Marlborough. Blood tests they'll send you to Pewsey instead of ever Savernake Hospital which is three times the size - in the same town. The most mismanaged institution I've ever come across. Prescriptions - deal with a whole different department; dispensary. See a GP? three months at best to see one. Phone call with a GP and they'll make you feel like you've won the lottery just to speak to a doctor from a mishmash of a team - some of whom are overjoyed to be retiring soon and you'll be lucky if they've read your file.Completely overrun without much time for anyone and clearly it's the way they like it. You'll be seeing Junior Doctor GPs at Swindon A&E and paramedics in the inside of an ambulance more than you ever see GPs from this medical practical joke.

Thank you Marlborough Surgery and Dispensary .. I appreciate all you do in these difficult times. I find you are all very helpful any time that I need to make contact with you.. also everyone at Pewsey is great too. Thank you.

Very helpful in response to symptoms. Very quick communication of prescription to pharmacy.

Appalling doctor, rude, unempathetic, he wouldn't listen to serious symptoms described, talked over my daughter and fobbed us off. Do not use this practice!

Possibly the worst practise I have EVER been to. I had the unfortunate need to visit this practice on multiple occasions for a health condition. After struggling to get an appointment in the first place I was told to see a triage nurse who defacto prescribed antibiotics for an issue that was never going to need Antibiotics, then I subsequently fought to get a real doctor's appointment but was instead given a phone call with a doctor who was egotistical, lacked empathy and completely disregarded what I was saying. Finally, I managed to get an appointment with a doctor in person just to be told that I was experiencing mental health issues ? that was the last straw. I then sought private health care, where they carried out the correct tests to diagnose a condition that I subsequently required treatment for. Thanks to the proper care I received through private healthcare, I am now fine (so much for mental health being the root cause). This practice is an absolute hazard for anyone living in the Marlborough area and the unfortunate thing is that the only other medical practice you can go to is Pewsey which is owned by the same company (look at the poor reviews that practice also has). I have no idea how an affluent area like this can have such a poor medical practice. I advise anyone living in the Marlborough area to sign up for private healthcare in the event you ever need it. This practice is a danger if you are in the unfortunate need of requiring proper care and attention. If anyone from the medical review process is reading this, you need to inspect this company as soon as you can.

Fantastic surgery, where all the staff: doctors, nurses and receptionists are all prepared to go that extra mile. Very caring and compassionate team

I rang this morning to arrange for a blood test. The receptionist explained that there was no nurse availability for the optimum day requested but to leave it with her. She telephoned me later that morning having arranged for the blood test to take place at Marlborough ( my preferred venue) on the day requested. Thank you so much to both the receptionist and the nurse who has agreed to undertake this task. Very much appreciated

I can only say how prompt and thorough the Pewsey side of KAMP have been. I was seen on the same day of triage, comprehensive examination from the nurse and the doctor. Follow up call upon receipt of results, with further treatment planned.

Very hard to get appointments if you need to book.6 weeks or more wait and you have to pay for parking.

Doctors who are helpful and actually listen to what you are saying rather than trying to impose their own views on you, however inappropriate or irrelevant - great, wish more doctors were like that. Nurses also very friendly and efficient, as are their Reception staff. Also a good range of specialist services including diabetic care which I was very happy with. I would definitely recommend.
