Nothing but praise for this little Inn. Sam and the rest of the staff were extremely accommodating to my wife, little dog (Graham) and I. Would happily stay here again.

Open mic local live bands, good beer, what else do you need?

Wow - what can I say!
The place was filthy, I?ve spent 24 years in the army and slept in compounds of Iraq and Afghanistan, but this is another level. Room was a bio hazard, looks like the carpet has been there since the pub was built in the 18th century, and not hoovered in that time either! None of the normal amenities, no hair dryer, no cups to go with the kettle and drinks, no shower gel and hand gel.
The noise when the pub was open was fine, when it closed then the noise just got louder and louder, the owners teenagers shouting in the street. It sounded like the BFG was having a full blown 45 minute shouting conversation under the bed.
Then we get told breakfast was from 0830, so we said we would be there at 0900. No one turned up! I then had to pay for my own breakfast at another shop in town, the breakfast at the lamb inn was meant to be part of the stay.
Guantanamo Bay prisoners would turn their nose up at this place.
The high reviews of this place are clearly being down by the owners friends/family.
I will be speaking to Hotels.Com for a full refund.

Interesting, quirky little pub.
We obviously caught them at the end of a busy day as they had run out of quite a few beers.
That said our pints of Wadsworth's were very nice.

Dirty room accessed by very steep stairs, central light didn?t work, carpet scruffy and stained. Bathroom grubby with broken window, unable to open. Room block accessed via scruffy courtyard with overflowing ashtrays. Becky served a decent breakfast, shame about the hair on the toast rack!

This is a pub stay. If you don?t want to stay at a pub, don?t stay here! That said, on with the review. We were greeted by the owner and her daughter who were amazing. We had just arrived off unanticipated flight delays that had us at over 24 hour travel time. Upon arrival we were immediately greeted, warmly, with an inquiry as to would we like a meal (no we were full) or a drink (absolutely yes). We ended up staying on for a few hours before bed as our daughter played with the owner?s daughter and friendly dogs. Yes there?s a barker but he?s a harmless fossil. Both nights we stayed we had an absolute blast. Beds comfy, bathroom clean, breakfast delicious. Great conversation and wonderful atmosphere but don?t come expecting the taj majal because it?s a vibe. Highly recommend. If not a night owl and don?t like cool live music, don?t stay on a Saturday. We will def be back!

The room hasn't been cleaned before we arrived- previous occupants rubbish in bin, shower gel instead of soap in the bathroom and the lights had been smashed up. So had the bed frame. Lots of things in the photos we're missing in person.
We probably could have forgiven that and just got on with our night, but the owners dog attacked ours, twice. It didn't help that the owners sat themselves with their dog immediately outside our room, so there was no way to come back without going past. As another reviewer says, dogs toilet is immediately in front of your room door as well.
We left an hour after check in and found other accommodation.

We had a blast staying here. Shaunie was the best! Becky made us an amazing breakfast and everyone was so nice. Highly recommend if you're not a miserable wretch and like to support a local family business.

Booked a room in the BnB through booking.com, the room was a true reflection of the photos. On arrival you book in at the bar which was easy enough the landlord was very friendly. Unfortunately the door to our room in the pub courtyard appeared to be the dogs toilet. Several times I had to ask the bar staff to clear up piles of dog mess. Not being able to open your windows because of the smell is disappointing. The cheapest accommodation in Marlborough and it appears you get what you pay for. I can?t comment on the included breakfast but there are plenty of nice cafes in town.

Review for pub only - used to be a lot better than it is. It?s fine but feels functional rather than welcoming these days. Okay range of beers and price is reasonable.
So overall fine without being anything stand out

Nice enough room but no one turned up for breakfast. Waited for an hour in empty pub, gave up and left.
