Good, reasonably priced pub in the middle of Malmesbury. Inside is warm and cosy with plenty of seating. Lovely beer garden with outstanding views. Parking mainly on road outside or Cross Hayes car park (2 min walk).

So our one night stay was enough for us and had it not been for the great location in the centre of Malmesbury it would have been marked with 2 stars. We were very grateful to be let into our room early, at first glance the room was ok however it needed a deep clean - grubby shower fittings, a black shower plug hole and a very dirty chair (we think someone stood on it to reach the very high up window blind) . It didnt work practically either with a weird, daft coat rack made from faux scaffolding pipes, an odd low table area for the coffee machine ( why not the same level as the rest of the table?) and the previously mentioned blind which my 6ft husband couldnt reach ( he used a coat hanger to pull it down!). To reach the parking area behind the pub you have to go through the old arched coach entrance - which in a VW Transporter was very tight and nerve wracking- just a few cms to spare! We paid £110 (room only) for a Saturday night in January and felt any Premier Inn would have been a cheaper and frankly a nicer experience . Such a shame, with its location this hotel is missing a trick.

Lovely pub/hotel, beautiful beer garden and fantastic staff.Great pint of Guinness and my kids love the chips.Friends from Canada and family in the UK have stayed in the hotel when visiting, they loved it.Just a great place.

Bursting with character in this fantastic town centre location. Lovely staff and extremely friendly and helpful manager. Extremely clean and very well decorated with a beer garden that has an awesome view. Be ready for the turn in to the car park. It looks very narrow compared with what most of us are used to but actually is very doable, there were some quite big cars in the car park! Even though we were there on a very busy Friday night we couldn't hear a thing in our room and slept very well and the extremely comfortable bed. The food was good too!

Very expensive but perfect view.This is 2 sharing boards for 4 people all put on to one board costing £32.Great for afternoon drink but food is costly.

I can't fault the service we received. They found a solution to an unfortunate experience with booking.com, enabled early check in for a wedding, provided very quick and friendly service of an excellent lunch, recommended a taxi service and on top of all that searched for and found a ring I lost in the car park. A comfortable room in a good location with great service.

A great place for evening drinks in the sunshine. Food barely palatable. I had the Gyros chicken - basically dry chicken in a chamois leather. My sister had the lamb burger, not grey either. We also ordered a few taps (Arancini and croquettes) also tasteless and greasy. A real shame for such a lovely setting.
