We were on a tour with Premier Tours to Windsor Castle, Stonhenge, pub lunch in Lacock at the Red Lion Pub. My husband got fish and chips and I got the chicken and ham pie and mash. There were 77 of us and the food and service were phenomenal.

We came here with our little dog Teddy. The service was wonderful even though they had a party of 50 in. Very organised. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. They even provided ice cold table water on request free of charge. The food came swiftly and tasted great. I added the app which was advertised at the bar and got £10 off our meal which was a lovely perk! We sat inside but there was plenty of space if you wanted to eat outside. Very dog friendly, even indoors. We had coffee and the chicken and ham pie. Delicious!!

I visited for three nights for business in Melksham. The pub and town is very peaceful and the history amazing. The Red Lion staff are brilliant, very accommodating and friendly. The food was great, breakfast has an amazing selection served quickly to get you on your way. The rooms are very spacious, extremely comfortable and have everything needed for a business trip, Wifi, ironing board, parking and a comfortable quiet nights sleep. Looking forward to my next trip to Lacock and the Red Lion.

Great stop and interesting village (bit of Harry Potter nostalgia)

We ate on a Sunday. Roast and quiche were ok. Steak frites was poor. Steak withered and tough. Portion sizes are poor value for money. We wouldn't be in a hurry to rush back.

I am 17 came in and asked for 3 portions of chips and got turned away because apparently now the law states you have to be 18 to buy some chips from a pub. Man was rude about it and asked us to leave. Not a happy experience and lost money and customers. Thanks a lot red lion ??

We thought this was by far the nicest pub in the village - friendly staff and the food and beer was very good. Dog friendly and a great place to go for food and drink.

We were on our journey towards Dorset when we stumbled across Lacock Village after taking a wrong turn. What a treat this place is. My fiancée is an avid Harry Potter fan and picked out a house that looks exactly where Professor Slughorn resides - she wondered if this was the filming location but I told her to stop being silly. After selecting a charming packet of £3 fudge from the honesty market, we realised we only paid £2.97 so if you?re the wonder that makes this, please get in touch so we can wire you the remainder - I can?t take this to my grave with me. The red lion is a perfect pit stop and the bar man is truly delightful. After informing him that we were from Sheffield, and he was from Nottingham, we entered into a heated debate about the border of the North and South. The conversation became too complex for me when the midlands was mentioned so I wrapped it up and focussed on my fish and chips (this was 6x battered by the way) much better than Ye Olde Nags Head in Daventry that only batters theirs five times. All in all, we had a great time in Lacock Village and enjoyed every minute. So if you?re also on the way to Dorset, make sure you take the same wrong turn that we did! You won?t regret it!

Very inconsistent staff/management. Me and a group of 3 friends went one afternoon around two weeks ago for a pint of fizzy drink and some chips and were served no problem. We took a seat in the garden and service was fabulous. The exact same group of us went today and we were denied service by who i can only assume is a manager after being served, paying and one drink already being made by another member of staff. When i asked why he said it was due to us not being able to provide ID. We all ordered orange and lemonade. Whether it?s the rules or not, I suggest you make all of your staff aware so it is not misleading to customers. You can?t pick and choose what day to serve people!

Visited pub on a Sunday. Roast dinner was nice, I'd recommend the pork belly roast.
Everyone really attentive and smiley.
Prices are in line with similar pubs, dog friendly, baby friendly. Nice garden, nice parking, nice interior too.
Will visit again when visiting this town.
