Lovely pub in a quiet area. Was perfect for a quiet drink. Service was great. We didn't eat there, however, there was a great selection on the menu.

Exceptionally busy on a warm Monday evening, you'd need to book for a meal. Luckily my group were only having drinks with snacks. Outdoor space was lovely, super woolly rugs available but not required in our heatwave!

If only all pubs were like this, then none of them would be closing. Took two elderly relatives for lunch, the team looked after us superbly and the food was excellent. I thoroughly recommend a visit (or many).

We went for lunch mid-week came away very disappointed. We didn't stay, and l hear the rooms are lovely. On arrival you have to admit the Pub is stunning. Location beautiful. Our disappointment stems from a poor menu and poor food quality. The staff were polite and helpful yet certainly didn't place any importance on appearance. Steak frites were tough and so was the burger. The specials board showed a nice pie which we attempted to order only to be told it's for evening diners. We booked online and on arrival, l wondered why. Restaurant empty, bar area had just one diner.
3 Meals, 1 coke ,1 cider, no deserts, £80 including 12.5% surcharge.
We won't return.

What an amazing little find!!! Wow!
We found this place by chance when driving past as an old running steam engine was parked outside. We decided to stop in for dinner and a drink and are so glad we did! My partner had Wild Boar Tortellini and I had a Rump Steak. The food and drinks selection was superb, the staff were excellent and the pub is very quaint and old but exceptionally clean, lovely decor and a superb beer garden. They even have rooms which we will definitely be booking next time we visit the area!

Friendly, welcoming service. Menu options were just enough and focused on quality. Loverly evening out. Atmosphere was cosy and dining area was clean

Went for a lovely meal this evening and enjoyed some of the best service I'd had in a long time !! A friendly barman called Will greeted me and was very quick to help me get a pint.I was served for the evening by Emily who was extremely attentive and always had a smile on her face.

Simply fantastic. Be that the location, food, drinks and the whole aesthetic of the pub & rooms. The star of the show was Manager Joe, I?ve never felt so welcome or accommodated at any property before. I would stay again in a heartbeat.

We had the most stunning Sunday lunch here today which they accommodated at short notice. Beautifully tender beef with the crispiest potatoes and gluten free cauliflower and broccoli cheese. Extra potato?s and gravy are free! Thank you Joe and team

What a great pub TQH is. Always have good beer and wine, food is varied and excellent and the service is absolutely top-notch.
There's a car-park to the rear (but plenty of parking around about); a pub-garden across the road, with a plentiful supply of tables and seats and they have a sheltered courtyard at the rear, twixt pub and car-park.
This is a proper, English country pub.

Went here for Sunday lunch today and have to say it was an excellent experience ? I had the roast beef... fantastic, extra gravy was offered which was greatly accepted. All of the staff are quality, they were quick and attentive. The fellow that seated us couldn't have been anymore friendly, Top bloke, ant the delightful waitress lady from Shaftesbury tip top.. x Will definitely revisit and thoroughly recommend this venue to others.... Parking good ????

I stayed here for a wedding close by. When I booked I thought the prices were high for staying in a pub. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. The room was spacious, very comfortable and clean with all facilities one would expect (except a fridge but that doesn't bother me). I was able to drop my bags in the room before the check-in which was very useful. When I arrived back from the wedding at 11.30pm, I opened my door to find two delicious chocolate brownies and some milk for tea and coffee in the morning. The breakfast was excellent so I must assume that the restaurant for lunch and dinner is equally good. All the staff were polite and attentive. To top it off, the area is beautiful and perfect for a weekend getaway with lots of beautiful English West Country to enjoy. I will certainly stay at the Queens Head again. Thank you!
