The service is outstanding all hours of the day. The staff are attentive, knowledgable on the menu and welcoming.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the decor is lovely.
We had three course meals over two nights. The soufflé starter was exquisite, as were the chicken breast and pork belly dishes. The only let down was the filet steak on our first night. The quality of meat wasn?t 5/5 and unfortunately neither steak was cooked correctly to medium rare. One plate was medium and the other more rare. This was the only letdown and why the restaurant didn?t receive a perfect score.
But we would return and highly recommend this establishment.

My partner and I shared the chateau briand for two. At £90 and the atmosphere the restaurant/decor gives off, you would expect it to be great. We were served very tough, average at best steak (we asked for medium). The peppercorn sauce was like nothing I?ve seen before - a watery brown soup, and the onion rings were so overcooked the batter just fell apart. It was school canteen quality food and I would never eat there again.

Booked Bowood Shelbourne never having been before. Expectations were high for Easter Lunch.
Food was very acceptable but nothing special- slow service - not a problem really. I ordered pork - where?s was the ?puffy crackling? had to ask for it - not puffy- skin - requested another - ok. The apple sauce never arrived ?. Service staff were lovely - very ameanable. Surprised to be billed for tea & coffee when it was a charged for an all inclusive menu - attention to detail is paramount - don?t promise what you don?t deliver? All in all will probably return but ?.

Lovely 2 night stay, good helpful staff the spa was lovely and clean,treatments very good the best part was the views you can also visit Bowood house and gardens when your there aswell which is included, wonderful room too deffo worth a visit.

Thanks to a wonderfully generous friend buying us a voucher we had the most DELICIOUS Sunday roast at Bowood today. Excellent service, melt in the mouth roast beef, scrumptious desserts along with ice cold Prosecco. Truly fabulous ?

We are staying here for a friends 50th birthday. The hotel is lovely and the room great.
We could have gone the the nearby pub but due to time constraints we decided to eat in the restaurant.
Betti, thank you for your excellent service and banter, you were a delight.
However, the food. At the prices they charge, this was underwhelming and miniscule. The chicken burger (£17) had barely any chicken in. The 'Jengy chip' take the pi$$. They were bare cooked once, let alone "triple cooked". They were half the size of normal chips of this type, which is puzzling as they can't cost much?
The fishcake (£17) was just a deep-fried (suspect frozen) fishcake with an egg on. We ordered the triple cooked chips as a side for £6.50 (!). Any chip shop would be in horror at abomination we got for this financial outlay (and as we know they're not cheap these days!)
I feel ripped off. Avoid if you can.

Had a fantatsic stay in the Keith Suite for my birthday. Staff couldn't do enough, food was excellent from the set menu. Had a massage in the spa that was very relaxing. 10/10 in every respect.

Reservation for 3 people for my birthday. Choice of eating inside or outside. Friendly decoration, very pleasant outdoor setting, pleasant staff and service. My dish was good (cod), this one from my husband (wagus beef): less, no choice of cooking, therefore overcooked. Good children's menu. Just was disappointed not to have a candle on my pavlova (even though I had specified when booking that it was for my birthday).
Parking: Numerous shaded parking spaces.
Kid-friendliness: Choice of children's menu with specific menu.

We went for a lunch, we had preordered the food as there was quite a lot of usThey don?t have starters per de, but I had a cheese soufflé which was nice, and I thought gave good expectations for the main.I ordered a burger which got brought out with regular fries, I pointed out that they should have been herb and the waitress seemed pissed off with me when I pointed it out, she left for a while to confirm, and whilst she offered to correct it, I already knew the food had been under a heat lamp for a bit so didn?t want to delay my lunch further.The burger was not good, whether it was actual Wagyu I can?t confirm as it was like a burger from a school canteen, and at £17.50 and with the wrong chips I expected better. I also tried some of the chicken and from what I could see it had no aioli and was dry.The restaurant is definitely style over substance and to get a dish wrong when it was pre ordered a week in advance is ridiculous.

Really nice atmosphere in the middle of the countryside. Very friendly service and food was really good as well.
