We came to Luckham celebrating my birthday. We've been quite a few times over the last 30 years. The staff were excellent as always but I'm sorry to say I did have a few niggles. This hotel definitely needs to get into the 20th century in terms of their Wi-Fi and entertainment packages I'm not saying that we would ever come to this hotel to watch television but to not be able to simply watch a movie with friends at the end of the day was frustrating especially when paying over £1500 a night for special occasion and hiring a cottage so that we could all spend time together. We just wanted to watch a movie from Amazon Prime or Netflix and that wasn't just not possible as the hotel just offers a very basic television package you can't mirror your own computer even it's very strange in this day and age would be very simple for the hotel to rectify. Also the Wi-Fi strength is very low. Essentially, we could've stayed in the local Travelodge and been able to watch a movie. Don't get me wrong a lot about the hotel is still spot-on. The afternoon tea is exceptional and the staff cannot do enough for you which is lovely. The grounds are beautiful and the cottage we stayed in was very comfortable and the spa is lovely. But this hotel should be an above and beyond experience especially for the prices they charge and I'm sorry to say that it just wasn't at times. It was difficult to get a basic continental breakfast over to the cottage And in the end I had to talk through how to do a continental hamper which was very disappointing when it arrived. I also asked to speak to the manager about the television problems but this was not forthcoming either. Lastly, be careful when getting your final invoice as they add discretionary service charges but not at the bottom it's kind of cleverly weaved into the overall body of the invoice you'll see when you get it. It also wasn't a small amount either it was another £250 just for service that had already been charged at the bottom of the invoice as well I've not seen another hotel do this before. Overall, it was a nice day, but I wouldn't say it was an exceptional one which is a little bit of a shame after several years of coming here to celebrate my birthday birthday will be staying somewhere else next year.

Simply amazing experience. We left feeling refreshed and very well looked after by some very attentive professional members of staff especially Tyler in the walled garden restaurant who couldn?t have been any better !
You just know you have found the right place when you?re already booked to go back.

Beware, the hotel doesn?t honour its official rates on the website! They cancelled our reservation next day after officially confirming it.
As a reason they stated that their website had a technical glitch and showed prices that they are now unable to honour.
I called them and the person on the phone said ?I am not going to over this with you back and forth?. They said a member of marketing team will be in touch but they won?t honour the reservation we made.
This is an unacceptable behaviour by the hotel of this level, if they care about their reputation they must honour their rates and own their mistake if they indeed made one. They can afford it.

A place to go to if you want to spoil yourself
Walkability: Extensive beautiful grounds and gardens to stroll through and experience.

Really a special place.
Very expensive but worth it.
Both restaurants are great.
The breakfast is the best we have had here in the UK.
The rooms are nice, although slightly dated. We had a room in the "garden".
The spa area is very large. Great swimming pools. There are several saunas available, but in my opinion they could have been designed a little better. There are also numerous treatments offered, but we have not tested them.
A tour of the very extensive grounds is mandatory. Very beautiful and impressive.
Riders also get their money's worth, I think. At least there are a lot of horses etc.
