A lovely overnight stay in this very dog friendly hotel. This hotel blends the old with the new very well. Staff were genuinely pleased to see you and couldn't have been more helpful. The rooms had everything you would need, they were clean and well laid out with a lovely walk in shower. A nice touch was spare towels for the pool

Stopped for 2 nights, just got back home.
Reception girls were friendly and helpful.
Bar staff were friendly and helpful
Breakfast staff were friendly and helpful, one young lady even stopped on to attend the bar some 6 hours later.
Breakfast was cooked to perfection, lovely coffee.
Room was lovely, great shower and quality toiletries help make the stay a pleasant one.
Nice pool, ideal size for me!
Lovely location
Great history in the building.
Great customer service from all we met.
Highly recommended!

We had a very disappointing stay at this hotel and unfortunately cannot recommend it.
First, before we even arrived, the hotel had a bug in their system, which led to us receiving multiple phishing emails. These emails requested our credit card details, and unfortunately, we fell victim to the scam, forcing us to change all our credit cards?an incredibly stressful and frustrating experience. Be extremely cautious when booking with this hotel.
When we arrived, there was a wedding event going on, making the hotel extremely noisy. We had booked a double room, but instead of a proper double bed, there were two single beds pushed together, making it uncomfortable as we kept sinking into the gap. The room was also cold, and to make matters worse, the view was of the car park?far from the experience we had expected.
Additionally, breakfast was not included, and the hotel refused to take responsibility for the situation, simply blaming Booking.com, while Booking.com blamed the hotel. No apology was offered, and we had to insist on getting any kind of compensation or amenity.
Overall, our experience was frustrating, time-consuming, and disappointing. The lack of accountability and poor customer service only added to the frustration. Given the security issues, uncomfortable rooms, and lack of proper service, we would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Really nice, large room. Extremely good experience in reception, in fact a really nice hotel. The only unfortunate experience was eating in the restaurant.
A poor menu because of little choice we went for burgers. Not an expert but I have had a couple in our local pub and perhaps two in Burger King. But this was expensive and disappointing, we were pretty sure that we were not fond of gherkins battered or not , nor seeing a reason for lettuce so we both asked for our meal to exclude both. Alas both came with lettuce and buns that I assume were so aged when toasted they shattered/ crumbled when a knife tried to cut into them. Anyway we persevered we each had a dry,unpleasant piece of what should be protein.

Stayed here for a couple of days with the in-laws ( both in their 80's ). Large and well-appointed bedrooms. Friendly and efficient staff and excellent location right in the heart of Chippenham. Swimming pool was warm and inviting but changing rooms could have been bigger - really only room for one person at a time.
Breakfast was good, self-service and staff able to sort any shortages quickly.
Only thing the in-laws complained about was the need to go through an open courtyard to get from the hotel to the bedrooms. Fine if it wasn't raining, but it was very cold.
One thing we found was the Sat Nav postcode did not take us to the car park as stated, but a little side road just before the hotel!
Would also recommend the Italian restaurant almost opposite the hotel-excellent food!
Rooms: Large, clean and well-appointed
Nearby activities: Italian restaurant over the road!
Safety: All fine, except courtyard paving was a trip hazard for my elderly in-laws
Walkability: Right in the middle of Chippenham so easy to access shopping area. Museum right next door too!

A nice place to eat, drink, and chill, it's pretty expensive, but the good beer, food, and service make up for that. The Angle is ideal for a peaceful pint and good food.

Excellent check in experience by a charming lady. Room very good. Bar prices Excellent and very good breakfast. Lots of parking and a great location.

A great hotel with lots of rooms. Very cosy and all staff polite and helpful. Easy walking into the town and 30 minutes drive to Bath.

Stayed here while working several times. Tried other hotels in Chippenham (work visits here being a regular thing) but this is my preferred hotel. If I were to visit Chippenham or Bath for a holiday, this would be the place I'd choose to stay.

Stayed with a tour group on 29 and 30th of November Friday nights food was excellent and the buffet breakfast was excellent but Saturday nights evening meal of roast turkey was not good first were served the veg which was there so long before we got the turkey we had to send the veg back as it was cold when we eventually got our turkey it was disappointing as the roast potatoes were so hard you could not cut them In fact it was so hard when I tried to cut one of them it shot of the plate the meat was taste less
Rooms: The rooms were great clean large rooms huge shower but could do with a hand rail to help you in and out my mother is 85 and a little unsteady on her feet
