Just enjoyed a 2 night stay here. We not only had a twin bedroom but also a separate apartment room with kitchen. Food and drink were great too, the full English breakfast was perfect and the steak I had one evening was amazing. Special thanks to Jeff and Alice for their excellent service too.Walkability: About a 10min walk from the River Avon and railway station.Food & drinks: Great selection of wines, beers and very good food too.

We were staying in the nearby hotel and went in for dinner, it was monday night so they had a steak night offer which was great value, the food was excellent and everyone was really friendly, especially as we had our small baby with

My husband and I went to the George for a Sunday roast, and it was a lovely experience. The staff were welcoming, and very attentive. The beef roast was absolutely delicious. They made sure mine was cooked through at special request as I?m pregnant. The cauliflower cheese side dish was particularly yummy. Great wine (for him) to go with it and home made ice cream for desert. A hidden gem of a pub. Highly recommend!Food & drinks: Really great food!

Back for Friday night supper after its recent refurb - and just Wow! The food was absolutely outstanding- truly delicious . We eat out regularly locally and this really knocks spots off anywhere else . Fabulous service - a great start to the weekend?

This pub goes well beyond your standard pub grub. We were visiting the area from London and ate here just before Christmas - we were blown away! The food, wine, ambiance, service ? everything was exceptional. You can tell a lot of thought and care has gone into this pub; it shows in all the little details. Thanks again and hope to be able to visit again soon!

The George has the authentic traditional feel of a Cotswold pub. The fire and staff combined to give a warm welcome on a cold day. Decoration is traditional and for there was enough Christmas feel to be classic and not-over-the top. Booking seems to be advised because The George is so popular. We were seated when we arrived, but could have had drinks by the fire had we so wished. There is also a separate bar area for those not dining. The menu gave enough options, including those for vegetarian and vegan dining. All the food was tasty with good portion size and excellent accompanying vegetables. Price was very reasonable given the quality of food. Service was timely on a busy lunchtime at Christmas, and not over bearing. Reasonable range of wines and beers. There is adequate parking in the car park and on the street. The George is in Woolley Street is on the outskirts of Bradford-on-Avon. An enjoyable dining experience and we will return.

such a lovely pub, the christmas decorations were restrained and made the atmosphere just right for a family lunch. We were very impressed with the seating area near to the fire with comfortable places to relax in and take a pre-lunch drink. The wine was very nice as was the beer. We were shown to our table by a very attentive waiter. Lunch was a 2 course choice from a 3 course menu and was excellent. How they offer that quality of food for the price, I do not know. Nice fresh food which was well cooked and presented. We hope to return soon.

The food, service & ambiance really was superb. Starter suggestions of the beets & goats cheese, breads with olive oil were great eats as our mains were being prepared. The steaks, cod dish & beef Wellington were of the top order. Everyone in the group demolished what?s was offered?..truly delicious!

The George is rediscovering itself as a thoroughly civilised watering hole for those who appreciate well prepared food and a well stocked bar.It's not pretentious, and welcomes families with children or quiet elderly tipplers with equal grace. The feeling is simply relaxed and friendly.

Lovely pub, great food and v accommodating for our two toddlers. We were upstairs and had the Sunday roasts, including generous children portions.
