Very famous old tea rooms. The little house is so old and its incredible just going in through the teeny door transports you into a different world. Loved that the staff wore period appropriate uniforms. It was delicious. It gets very busy and some items are pricey, but everyone was kind and the set was delightful. Tea was, as one would expect, fantastic quality.

Such a charming and memorable visit to The Bridge Tea Room! The building itself is beautiful ? full of history and character, like stepping back in time.
There?s a lovely variety of food options and teas, and everything we had was delicious. One of the young girls kindly helped us choose the tea, and her recommendation was spot-on ? so fragrant and refreshing.
A perfect little escape with great service and a warm, cozy atmosphere. Would definitely visit again! ???

The worst but most expensive coffee we ever had. Service was slow but have 10% service charge added onto a bill.
We took many guests to this place but not again. Tourists trap

We were really looking forward to visiting The Bridge Tea Rooms ? the gorgeous historic exterior and quirky Victorian décor definitely set the scene, and the location is great with convenient paid parking right across the road.
Inside, it?s undeniably quaint, and the staff were friendly and dressed in old-fashioned maid-style uniforms ? a little unusual, but it did add to the atmosphere. Unfortunately, that?s where the charm ended.
The building is clearly in need of serious TLC ? there was visible damp, cracks in the ceilings, and makeshift boards pinned up to cover problem areas. Yes, it?s an old building, but at these prices, you?d expect some care to go into preserving its character properly.
We ordered English breakfast tea for four, and at £6 per person, we were shocked to receive just one teapot to share. The tea itself was fine, but nothing special ? certainly not worth the price tag. The toasted teacake was small and clearly mass-produced, not homemade or locally sourced. The scone was tasty but again, definitely bought in.
For just one scone, one teacake, and tea for four, we paid over £40, which felt extortionate. To top it off, they added a 10% service charge ? in a café, no less. For that kind of money, we expected not only better food but a much more cared-for space. It?s baffling how they?ve won ?Tea House of the Year? ? we?re not sure what year that was, but it certainly wasn?t recently.
We love supporting local, independent cafés, but sadly this one isn?t worth your time or money. We won?t be returning.

The scones and tea/coffee were pleasant. But it is very expensive and the customer service was disappointing - we felt unwelcome and some of the order was forgotten. Seems tourist focused.

It?s a stunning building full of quaint charm on the inside. However I was left disappointed, we had afternoon tea, and it was massively over priced. The sandwiches were delicious, but it was more desert then cakes, a square of cheese cake of some kind, I think a square of Mississippi mud pie and a square of cream something I have no idea what it was?. I thought to myself well you?re paying for the setting and service, except we were upstairs and what we actually got was gossipy teenage girls getting ready to leave their shift?.. as we were the only ones upstairs it was really uncomfortable sitting with whispers round the corner.
The building is beautiful- we looked at the history ourselves as no info was obvious at the venue or offered when giving our choices.
Then to top it off we had a compulsory service charge. We paid £70 in total.

Not suitable for anybody with allergies or those who like good customer service.
I have an egg allergy and my partner is vegetarian. We made this clear to staff upon ordering. When the sandwiches came out I asked which were which - they didn?t know/ made no effort to explain beyond saying the side with avocado on (both sides had avocado on). After several more times of asking we were still none of wiser - and as a result we were unable to eat the sandwiches, for fear of having an allergic reaction
When the food was brought out, we asked if we could have some plates and cutlery, which was responded to with a grunt. 10 minutes later we finally got the plates.
The hygiene was awful. The tea cups were stained, the kitchen looked filthy when the doors opened, and there were flies everywhere (including on their cakes - some were covered, some were not).
On top of all of the above, they had the cheek to add a service charge upon the £50 I paid for 2 scones. When I requested a refund for the service charge I realised they short changed me.
Vegetarian options: They did not/ could not tell us which sandwiches contained meat and which didn?t
Dietary restrictions: Not suitable for those with restrictions. Did not even tell me if it contained egg or not, after specifying I had an egg allergy.

Oh my god, I?ve never experienced such a circus act. The main host was just all over the place I?d be surprised if he?s ever worked in a customer service environment.
We are closed sign actually means, we may or may not let you come in, even if you have a booking you may or may not be able to go in.
They need better signage to explain bookings only etc.
I could not wait to get out of there, did not feel welcome nor did a couple next to us.
And to pay £20 for a mediocre cup of tea, and basic scones. We are from Cornwall and on our door step you?d get 10x better service, better food/ drink and half the price.
UKs top cream tea should be stripped from them.
