Visited on the way back to London from Devon on the A303, it's a decent size for a superstore and sells most things you would expect it to. The downside is that the petrol station doesn't have a kiosk. But other than that it's a good store.

Great Tesco Superstore
Your usual Tesco superstore, we used it to get lunch just before going to visit Stonehenge. It was really good and had all the expected amenities like toilets, cafeteria, etc. Large selection too, so really good for us.

I see the review left by Carol. Just to say quickly in response to that. Usually it?s very good, you said this yourself.
I have only experienced excellent service by the staff in Amesbury. Only this morning I received a no quibble refund on a mattress topper with a high end brand name. Staff did ent ask for a reason.
We all get into chat at work and a little banter. You know what ? It?s a sad day without it, it is good for team building and it?s good for moral.
All these things add up to better customer service.
I like the shop and the staff are always friendly.
Until that changes they get my full support and five stars with it!

Loyal shopper at Tesco Amesbury, good food and service, that is until this morning. Only one till open, I was at least six trollies back in the queue, there were 4 members of staff stood chatting in the self service area .I thought one of them were coming to open another till, but no, she wandered down, put an item on one of the checkouts and spoke a few words with the one cashier who was working and then returned to the self service area to make a comment to remaining 3 staff still standing and talking. Whatever she said caused them to look at the queue and then made comment to each other, which they obviously found humerous, as they then
laughed. by which time myself and others in the queue were furious, and made verbal comments ,objectively to cause some action after waiting at least 10 minuits all to no avail. appalling customer service. As one of the UK leading retailers you would like to think the customer service would also be leading ,or maybe a leaf out of the budget store eg.Home Bargains would be helpful

I went last week to the petrol station and as it often happens the receipt weren't working, so I went inside to ask the customer service and they sent me to ask a guy in the self service tills, but that guy was in his break and they asked me to either come back in an hour or another day. Does this mean that there is only one person in the entire shop that has the ability to reprint the receipts? There were two girls in the customer service, one lady in the self service and after a bit another girl came to the customer service desk, so out of 4 people no one was able to help me. Two days later I came back, there was someone else at the customer service, she didn't know what to do but she tried to help me and a 5 minutes later she came back with the receipt. Which makes me wonder, why 2 days earlier 4 people weren't able to do that? Why did I have to bother to come back again to get the receipt? I think Tesco should better train their employee since it appears that the customer service can't help customers or address customers to someone to help. They didn't even try to call a manager to ask who could do that, since a manager would certainly know better how to help customers

Shame I like this supermarket but I won't be using it again, the staff are rude, uninterested and unhelpful. Seen one matter of staff was using their phone while on the tills. I won't be using Tesco again it's gone completely downhill

Customer service it is just a joke especially when you enter the store desk on the left. I was waiting in the que to buy something and there was a lady in front of me chatting with ''Natalie'' like in the coffee shop. After 10 minutes of waiting, I asked if she is buying anything or not as people are waiting in the long que! Mind you 3 people already left as the waiting was insane! Natalie said i was rude and she's not gonna serve me however she already printed the ticket which i wanted. Terrible service. I have never been refused any service. She's literally against the business.

Bob Jones was extremely polite and even gave my disabled wife an assisted shop. Big up Tesco Amesbury!
