Good service and most of staff are lovely but food not great. Vegetarian root vegetable pie late to arrive and when it did was overcooked, hard thick pastry, veg from carvery over cooked and mushy. Some improvements needed

Took my partner and son for a meal on ours sons 2nd birthday and my partner got her carvery whilst I watched our child and then I went to get my carvery and stood in a queue of 6 people at most and we all waited upto 20 minutes before being served as there was one person working on the carvery so it ended up me and my partner eating separately due to the wait and the building was uncomfortably warm

I did not give 5 stars And the answer to the review proves you donot read your postsWanted a lovely carvery and drinks. Did not get any of that.Arrived just after 5 pm on Tuesday. The place was quite quiet before the later rush. Apart from the reserved tables most tables were empty but dirty and uncleared.Service was slow at the bar as they were discussing the nightclub from the night beforeThe chef at the carvery was sullen and very stingy with the meat portions and when asked by the previous customer for some fat was more than reluctant to oblige. Unfortunately the gammon wasn't completely cooked and the beef was tasteless and plasticy in textureThe veg was as great as normal gravies were also great, shame the service area was filthy and spilt food everywhere.We had to move tables as someone decided to sit at our table. The hostess was very apologetic. And offered us a seat in the family room. We were two adults. This was not ideal.We decided to have cake/ cheese cake to takeaway. Surely nothing could go wrong with that.Oh was I wrong, the lemon cheesecake was sour and the cream off and the toffee fudge cake was dryI was so disappointed with the whole experience

Not as good a meal as I was expecting. A few vegetable items had run out and they were only lukewarm. Meat was good though

Summer 2023The pub was busy on a Saturday afternoon. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I only ordered a coffee since we arrived super early for a flight.Updated 26/05/2024We stopped by to pick up a family member from the airport. Despite being very busy, they managed to squeeze us in. The staff were all lovely. We opted for the carvery, which was very enjoyable. The food was tasty with plenty of choices and served piping hot."

We came here after flying in from Tenerife for a bite to eat. The lovely lady Ann who was on front of house went above and beyond to get us a table in the family area made sure we had everything we needed. What a lovely and helpful lady. I ordered the chicken tikka, the portions are huge and food was lovely!

Had carvery nicely cooked and fresh veg and potatoes and turkey and gammon just melts in your mouth it's so tender and juicy. Ask the trimmings too. Quick service lots of seating and nice atmosphere and prices BRILLIANT for carvery. Would recommend.
