10 minutes late as stuck in traffic tried calling as I knew I was going to be late in phone queue for 25 minutes no answer. Was turned away as they said next appointment had arrived and they were too busy to answer the phone. I was asked if I would like to book for another day ! No I will take my business elsewhere.

Probably the worst place I?ve ever been. The woman who sat us down was so condescending and horrible. She was telling us about how good they are about customers service and I felt like walking out with how she was talking to me and my mother. Jeanette her name was and I?m sorry but just a little advice as a customer don?t rush someone who is spending 100s of pounds in a shop and try treating people with respect. I will not be coming here for my glasses! Wouldn?t recommend this place if you?re bothered about customer service.

The receptionist Declan, I believe his name to be, was rude and condescending. As I arrived, it sounded like he was dressing down another customer. I'd of looked to avoid him should I have ever visited again until, when I'd spoken with the optician, because of my honesty to explain I'd maybe become more relaxed with wearing contact lenses and wanted some guidence on how I could refresh my knowledge on best practices, I was belittled and threated to not be "signed off" on continued contact lense use. I feel if I'd gone in and lied and pretended like others may do when asked if the do everthing correctly to the letter, I would have had a better response, but I do feel like I've become more relaxed with my eye-care over time and I was always tought honesty to be the best policy. I was then tricked by the optician when asked to take out my contact lenses and then scorned when not followed the procedure to the tee, as mentioned above, this was all in the context of me wanting to learn more and saying beforehand I wasn't entirely sure I was doing everything completely correct. This I feel could of been done in a better way, like explaining with a leaflet how the correct way to do things was, not make me feel 2ft tall because he seemingly got an power trip having the authority over me. I'd had the same experience with Declan on a previous visit to the Wakefield branch and noticed how he'd treated others in the store, other staff included. I'd warn people to stay away from the branch in Wakefield and instead use Boots opticians or Specsavers, much friendlier and welcoming places to go. If anyone would like context to my review, please see other reviews I've left via Google and you'll notice I'm not usually a person to complain. I generally leave 5 star reviews but think you should be honest when somewhere should be avoided. Terrible, terrible experience to the point I'll never return and *some* awful staff who work there.

Yesterday, 20th July 2023 at1.55pm I brought my 97 year old disabled mother for an eye test.We were greeted on arrival then promptly shown to a seated area with room for my mother's wheelchair. Soon after a wonderful bright and cheerful lady conducted the initial eye test for my mother. 5 minutes later, we were shown in to the main eye test room. Despite my mother being hard of hearing , the Optician was both patient and showed real courtesy and consideration in the way she carried out the test. The test took a little longer than normal as my mother couldn't always understand what was being said but despite this, theOptician still managed to carry out the test in a thorough and professional manner. After that, we were shown to a desk and a very cheerful young man brought a selection of glasses to the table for my mother to choose from.In summary, I would like to thank all of the 3 staff who dealt with my disabled mother in such a caring way and she has asked me to convey this message to your all. 5 members of our family come to your branch for tests and glasses and love the friendly yet professional atmosphere.

Excellent service from everyone there - despite me being a bit late! I was the last appointment of the day but that didn't help the staff being just as helpful, even though I'm sure they wanted to get off home! Thanks to the store manager in particular (I didn't catch his name!) who kindly helped me pick my specs and sorted out all the paperwork.

Really annoyed after todays visit, eye test last month and inquired about contacts?Took the option of a ?free trial?. A number of weeks on and after 2 cancelled appointments I was back today. I haven?t been fully convinced that contacts are for me, so I intended to start with purchasing 30 pairs of contacts without a subscription and see how I get on.On completion of my follow up I was charged £35 ?aftercare?. It May seem obvious or normal - for those who are expecting this. However not once was I informed that part of the free trial was to pay £35 to confirm that the free trial contacts were ok for me. Please also consider that my intention of buying a one off month of 30 pairs of contacts for £36 have now cost £71? If I was informed of this compulsory charge at the end of the free trial then it would have swayed my decisions not to pursue the using contactsWish I?d waited before spending 200 on glasses that I know I could have shopped around for less. Left a bitter taste it has

my overall experience was really good, they took care of my problem straight away, made me feel better mentally when i came out really helped me more than they know, only downside is not the shop or any members of staff but the fact of while i was sat down waiting, a young boy ad say 5?7 ish 15-18 yrs old came in and robbed some shades and ran off, they was currently 5 members of staff on front house talking to each other while that happened, i had to say excuse me 4 times before getting the women's attention to tell them that someone has just stolen some shades.

I used to be a patient of vision express at Yeadon. This is my first time at Wakefield. I have to say I was treated like a VIP and was so impressed from start to finish, that I suggested my fiance changes to Vision express. He goes on 6th January.Thank youDonna Knight

My daughter has been waiting for glasses since November 8, so her eyesight will deteriorate before she gets glasses. Customer service was very nice but for the waiting is bad
