Looks tired and old. Hot inside. Food section is OK, but not as good as The White Rose in Leeds. Parking is awful and not free. Beggars outside. Druggies in the precinct.
I remember this place as a small person when buses pulled up outside, dropping people off.
Sadly this is one of the saddest, and one of the poorest M&S' in the country.

I love their flat white coffee and cheese & mushroom Toasties. The new Christmas ciabata sausage rolls are tasty too.
Currently my favourite coffee in the city centre.

I went earlier today with my mum to do our food shop and I noticed one of the workers following us around in the shop with a sour look on her face. She then confronted my mum the third time she came near us and caused a scene. She got in my mums face accusing her of stealing as my mum was putting food in our reusable bag instead of directly onto the trolley as the majority of the contents of were fresh fruit and vegetables, hence being placed in the bag. We had passed by three workers who seemed to not have an issue but she did. It?s not the first time she has showed micro-aggression to my mum as she clearly singled us out. My mum got upset and told her why was she accusing her of stealing and she lied saying it was reported, when in fact she was just abusing her power to threaten us. I proceeded to walk away from the situation to the next isle because people began to by stand and I was getting anxious. The lady followed me to continue the argument until my mum had to tell her to go away. I don?t know her name but she said she was the manager. She had black hair and was around 47-57 and was wearing a blue blazer

Went into ridings M&S Wednesday to get some holiday clothes with my 1year old child in the pram and was shouted at across the shop floor very rudely that my child had thrown food on the floor which I was oblivious to and if I had noticed I would have instantly picked it up. The staff member then proceeded to tell me ?if your child is throwing food on the floor she?s clearly not hungry is she? in an abrupt manner. I was more than happy to clean up after her as I don?t want her throwing food however Iv never felt as belittled and humiliated by anyone. Will definitely not be returning to this store again.

I visited the cafe in Wakefield today and I was absolutely horrified by a member of staff's aggression towards me, I would suggest if a customer doesn't understand what you are referring to is to be more specific rather than humiliating someone in public! Generally I have received a very professional service in the past, but this experience has put me off visiting again in the near future. She has definitely let the team down! I gave 2* because the meal was OK
