Really great value hotel in a ?motel style? layout. It was located in an industrial estate but a short walk away from shops and pubs for dinner (I recommend the Holyfield Arms). The breakfast was excellent and you pre-order the night before which can?t be a bad thing as it reduces waste. In addition to the fry up, there?s tea, coffee, juice, pastries, bread, cereal, fruit and yoghurt available as part of a buffet (and included in the price of £9.95 if you order the night before).Parking is free and plenty of spaces are available. The staff were very welcoming and helpful too.My only qualm was that the walls were quite thin so noise carries. I?d recommend to management that they book guests into alternate rooms if the hotel isn?t at full capacity, to mitigate this.Rooms: The room had a flat screen TV and a shower / bath unit. There was also a charging point for electric razors and an ironing board. The bed was comfy. Overall, it seemed clean albeit a bit dated in terms of decor (although I don?t mind that - especially for the price).

I'm not picky but location is terrible if you don't want to stop in your room, the bar at hotel doesn't have much choice to drink. The hotel is ideally for people on the road and just need to crash

In the middle of an industrial estate, so can be a lot of traffic and the speed bumps in the road are big. Does not accept cash only cards. Has a restaurant on site with a very limited menu but breakfast is made fresh and tastes good. Staff are lovely. Rooms are a little unusual and dated. Does have tea/coffee facilities in the room.

Checked in at 1530 on a Saturday, although I had requested a ground floor room as I have an elderly dog and stairs are a problem, the only one available was the disabled room (room 8) which has reduced facilities due to it's special status, it only has a single door to the outside which makes it colder, there is no wardrobe space because the bathroom takes up more room, the bathroom lacks a bath or proper shower as it has a "half" bath with shower over which is neither fish nor foul.It also has a door connecting it to the next room, the only thing you can not do through this door is see, otherwise it is just like having the rooms as one, noise and all.I have stayed at this hotel about 4 times a year, and although the staff are normally extremely helpful , this time they were not, "I have offered you another room, but you are not willing to take it" it was up at least two flights of stairs I am 75 with a heart condition and you expect me to carry my dog up the stairs? The charge fpr the dog is now £15 per pet per night so I had to pay an extra £30 for my two night stay, it used to be £5.To say I am disappointed is an understatement, is this how you treat regular guests, if it is then you will do without meRooms: not all the rooms are equal. so check which you will get

Rooms are very dated and poorly cleaned. When I woke up in the middle of the night because water was leaking down from the ceiling all they did was give me an other room. Not even offering to help me move my luggage.Poor service poor rooms, location is better but doesn't nearly make up for what I mentioned before.

Rooms are terrible and to top it off I got a parking fine when it's supposed to be free parking be very wary of this dose

For the price, this was a good hotel. It is more like a American motel. Rooms were clean and location is okay. Only negatives are noise the odd night, from vehicles and neighbors. The other is, a full breakfast wasn't cheap. Staff were very helpful, even got a brolly one wet morning.Walkability: You could walk into town, in 20 mins. 3.5 starsFood & drinks: A few pubs and restaurants in the area, like Toby Carvery, The Queens Arms pub locally or walk into town, The Black Rock, Six Chimneys (Spoons) and Hogarths in town are good

It's an okay hotel, cheap and cheerful and okay-ish value for money. Friendly and helpful staff. I would probably say it's not ideal for guests staying over with young ones as the rooms are not sound proofed and unfortunately for me I could hear the noises from 'extra-curricular' activities in the room next door (this is not the hotel's fault btw just an observation). The beds are very comfy top marks on that one. Location is okay but could potentially be a bit noisy during the week as it's in an indurustrial area with heavy goods vehicles moving around.Okay for a solo traveller for a night or two.
