Food was fantastic, really enjoyed the atmosphere and the building had a lot of character. I thought the menu was a bit long and over complicated, some on paper which was over whelming and some on the app, plus the specials board. The service i thought was pretty poor, i didn't like the idea of ringing the bell to call someone over and I thought they could have been more attentive when plates were empty. We still had dirty plates left on the table from our mains, after dessert was served. Also the AI art in the bathroom was questionable. Compliments to the chef for the good dips and food! Would probably return based on the food but would hope the service was better.

What a fabulous place. Wonderful food, brilliant professional service & great cocktails...all for a reasonable price! Easy to get to by train or bus and positioned in an ideal place with other pubs in easy reach

Lovely food and attentive staff. Liked the idea of a call button on the table for ordering and to pay for food. Would recommend booking as was busy. Dog friendly menu too.

Lovely afternoon at Honest John's.
Great food as always and great service.
My only gripe is that when we got the bill we saw that a pint of soda water was charged at £2.95.
As we were drinking wine with soda, we had 4 pints of soda water throughout the afternoon.
This really bumped the bill up.
Having recently been to a bar in Mytholmroyd who didn't charge at all for soda water and another place in Hebden Bridge that charged £1 for a pint, the charge of £2.95 seemed very high

Great Greek style Sunday Roast. Beef was great, the chunks fell apart rather than needing cutting, fantastic taste. Mediterranean vegetables were a good substitute for normal English veg and gravy tasted amazing.
Great system for calling for table service by clicking knew of 3 buttons on a device on every table: service, bill and cancel (just in case you press by accident).

Booked a table for around eight guests and was asked to put pre-order in. When we arrived we found our 'table' was not in the main restaurant and was in a side room. Instead of a table, we had two small and very low coffee tables with sofas around it. Very difficult to eat roast dinners when they are on such low tables! Despite pre-ordering the food, it took over an hour for it to arrive. Food was average. A shame as we'd looked forward to it and the main restaurant itself looked nice.
