The food was absolutely phenomenal ? I couldn?t fault a single thing. The burger was top notch and the steak was excellent.
However, there was a slight issue with our order. We were given the option to swap the traditional sides of chips and salad for alternatives. When we asked for the slaw to be swapped for salad, the dish arrived with both slaw and salad but no chips. I tried to rectify this, but was told that the salad couldn?t be swapped out only chips could. I don?t believe this is an unreasonable request, particularly for a £17.50 steak only chips can be swapped out
Never the less amazing food will still return!

Very nice and sympathetic use of an old bank building. Unfortunately the vibe has not transferred from the original premises.....it needs to be served in a can!

Looked forward to visiting after hearing people raving about Rumpus, all I can say is I won?t be rushing back!
Burgers are standard and nothing special, we asked for one burger to have no bacon and caramelised onions instead and we rudely told ?we don?t do substitutes?. Not been funny but swapping bacon to onions will save you money! My burger was 2x 6oz burgers, one was pink(which is perfect for me) other patty was over cooked and had no colour to it.
Music too loud in restaurant, couldn?t even speak to my wife it was that loud, we went a Wednesday night so god knows what it would be like on a Friday or Saturday.
No communication between staff at all, we ordered drinks when we sat down and then someone else came asking what we wanted for drinks.
Staff made us feel rushed since we got in and no real customer service at all, felt like they want you in and out, even though there was plenty on empty tables.

Heard good things about Rumpus, so I decided to give it a go and wasn't disappointed. Booked a table for 5. All had different burgers, including a vegetarian, all cooked well and very tasty. 5 drinks were also bought, and a couple of upgrades to topped chips. 92.00 in total. Well worth it, in my opinion. It's very small, but I didn't feel crammed in, and it's also upstairs, so those with mobility may struggle. 100% would recommend it, though.
Vegetarian options: Can swap any burger for falafal

Very small but very smartly decorated restaurant

The burger was very good. Menu says 6oz but it felt bigger to me!
The texture of the meat was amazing, perfectly grilled, still some pink in the middle which I had hoped for, and was amazingly soft and melted in my mouth.
It would have been one of the best burgers I've had if it had been seasoned more. Although the look and texture was perfect, there just wasn't as much taste as I'd hoped for (wasn't much of a flavour to the meat).
But there is potential for this to be an amazing burger!
The burgers come with fries (included in the price), and I wasn't expecting much after seeing pictures in other reviews.
But I have now learnt not to judge fries by their looks!
The fries were really really good. Lovely and crispy on the outside and really fluffy inside. And a good portion!
I wouldn't normally eat all the fries as well as a burger, but I couldn't stop eating the fries and ended up finished them all!
The service was also very efficient and professional, and the prices were perfect for the quality and amount of food.
We will definitely come back here again, and I would highly recommend it.
