Called in on our way home on a Sunday afternoon. Steak pie and chips were delicious. My wife had the Sunday roast with all the trimmings, she really enjoyed it . We were asked a couple of times if everything was ok, and felt really looked after . Highly recommend.

What a great pub. Friendly staff, great beer, tasty food at reasonable prices.Stayed in Cross Hills for a week on holiday and visited the Old White Bear a couple of times, once for drinks and once for Sunday lunch. Both times we had a great time.

The Old White Bear is the oldest building in the village Cross Hills and was built in 1735. It has previously been a hotel, a brothel, a council meeting place and a dance hall. The council met frequently here to discuss the Leeds and Liverpool canal and decided where to cut through the land here! It has also been the site for Goose Eye, White Bear and Naylors breweries and ale from Naylors brewery, situated less than half a mile away is always on pump.
There are three real fires which come to life in winter and a sun-trap beer garden for the summer.
