I didnt actually visit the anglers retreat I was doing an amazon delivery to across the road and I parked outside, google must have assumed I patroned this venue.
I honestly wish I had, after a month I remember getting back in my vehicle WISHING I was in there, it looked so comfortable, and calm, and relaxed, and quiet and I really need that. Just the thought alone warrants 5/5 would drive past again.

Great pub

It's a pub in a lovely location, with plenty of parking and seating outside. Inside is a tiny bar and some rustic seating for about 10. The side room is much larger in a 70's time warp and needing some tlc. Beer Barnsley Bitter hand pulled was lovely.

Seeing lots of great reviews for the Landlord. I'm pretty sure from what I'm reading here & what I saw (I'm sure he's a nice chap ???). But what made his pub extra, extra, extra special was his locals. They didn't know us from Adam. Yet we walked in with our dog, one chap offered to hold ours while we got served (thank you sir). The Acorn Blonde was excellent, (probably could do with some Gin glasses, hint, hint). Sat down & Scruffy was made welcome, well by Battersea Dogs home & their owners. Five minutes laters I was offered Bread & Dripping, which I wasn't going to turned down. Again, thank you sir for offering. Dec, put your feet up & let the locals serve themselves, just let them know how the till works.
