This hotel doesn't care less about the local residents that live close by. This is due to the loud firework displays they do for wedding events. I've now written 3 letters to the manager, complaining about the hotel being a serious noise nuisance towards the local community, and so far I still haven't received a letter of apology from them. The sooner this hotel stops doing firework displays, the better it will be for residents who live close by. Anyone thinking about having a meal in their restaurant, then just stay away. Because in October 2023, I had a meal in their restaurant, and the cutlery was dirty. Had to complain to the manager about this. Which by the way, the manager was not helpful

I found the experience very pleasing indeed and very surprising as I and my wife need wheelchairs.Their cottages are very good and we had a pleasant stay.

The hotel itself is is a nice location with great views outside, but that is where the positives end for this place. The breakfast was terrible food and service by staff was just as bad; if you have the option of having breakfast with your room, don't take it.The service in general at the hotel was very mediocre. I left a pair of sunglasses in my room, which is obviously my fault, but when asked to send them to my address the hotel for some reason sent this untracked and signed for delivery even though I was happy to front the cost. The hotel couldn't provide me any details at all of what the reference number was for the Post Office and was frequently met with an uncaring attitude from staff who never called me back when asked to.Great views outside the hotel and not too far from York, but other than that it is far too expensive for what I got.Rooms: The room we stayed in was very bare-bones and nothing to write home about.Noteworthy details: Goes without saying, but ensure you take everything with you when leaving because if you have left anything in the room, you will not be getting this back as the hotel does not care about getting whatever has been left back to you.

Stayed on a Sunday, wanted an evening meal around 8pm but the restaurant closed at 5pm. Very quiet, olde world atmosphere. Fantastic venue for weddings with its stunning grounds and function rooms. Stayed in a bungalow for something different but was put in a disabled access room but being over 6 foot I more or less had to kneel down to get to the sink but plenty of room.A nice stay but disappointed in the meal situation,. Wouldn't stay again.

I took a group of twenty for a lunchtime event . The afternoon went well and everyone agreed that it was enjoyable. The service was good, considering the number of people attending.Walkability: Readily walkable from home in Featherstone
