I called into the Pontefract branch this morning, I needed some help with my accounts. I spoke with a young lady called Ariane, she was extremely helpful and sorted my issue in no time. She is to be commended for her customer service, it was excellent

I called in to this branch today to ask advice on paying money in to my ISA the first woman I spoke to on the counter was just unhelpful and basically told me to do it on the Halifax App, I asked to see someone to advise me, after a short wait I was seen buy another female member of staff who had a bad attitude, was patronising and had no customer service skills, again just wanting me to sort it myself via the App, what these people need to realise is not everybody is comfortable with technology and sometimes like a bit of advice for a human!
While I was in the branch I witnessed another older gentleman being treated in exactly the same way by a staff member who could be bothered to help him....shocking customer service at the Pontefract Halifax branch.

Called into this branch for the first time on Saturday 8th March to discuss details of a family bereavement with a gentleman called Lee.
I have to pause here and try and think of the best way of saying how I feel about the service Lee provided that morning. Wow what a guy! I think that best sums it up.
Honestly the nicest guy I think I have ever met. So helpful, nothing was too much to ask.
I needed to verify my identity to be able to to talk to the Halifax bereavement team, he did this for me and stayed with me during a lengthy telephone conversation. In what where difficult times he showed fabulous customer service and care. I would have been lost without him that morning.
Well done Lee.

Spoke to Kayleigh I believe her name was, she was SO helpful! She?s a credit to the store she really made me feel heard after a bad experience I had at Barclays and because of her I have switched from Barclays to Halifax! She gave me so much information and set me up with an appointment which was also absolutely amazing. I couldn?t be happier with her service thank you so much!

Visited this branch this as needed to sort a few things with my account. I was dealt with, by a lovely lady called Claire. Super helpful and very efficient. Highly recommended the branch

I went in today to put £200 into my son's account. I put my card in the machine, put the money in and waited. It then spewed my money out. A very nice lady came to help and said I could actually take it to the post office. What??!! Anyway, after several attempts it took £40 and then £20 of the £200. So, I went to the counter to pay the rest in. Couldn't understand why there were all those notices saying 'please respect our staff' By the time I came out there was steam coming out of my head.. I put my card in the machine, pin number, and then foolishly said it was my son's account. Oh no. you can't do that. you will have to go and put it through your own bank account. My son needed the money in ASAP. It could be money laundering. I am 85. Is it really likely to be money laundering with £140? On the way out I tried the cash machine again. The £140 went in with no problem.
All that stress for nothing. All she had to do was put the money in the account. Good grief. How utterly ridiculous. Where on earth is common sense ?

Went in for identity verification and the lady who greeted me (her name starts with a C) couldn't be more pleasant. She handled everything with a smile on her face and we shared some jokes. After reading all the negative reviews on here, I feel it is only fair to post my positive experience. I recommend this branch based on my experience today.

25 minutes waiting in the que. Got to the front as I wanted to draw some money out (more than I am able to at the cash machine)I get to the front to be told I need to wait as there aren't any £20 notes. No apology, no sense of urgency at all. They really don't care here about their customers and it's really clear to see. Change of bank is now needed as this isn't the first time I've been here and the same impression. Other people in the que were also saying the same sort of things.

28/Dec/22 went in to withdraw £8000 today but was greeted by a very unhelpful Rude ,unpleasant Counter Lady! She Blamed me for withdrawing my Card from her machine even though it had asked me to remove it? then she Made it very unpleasant and difficult difficult to complete my withdrawal, so i requested my Card back and Left the Branch without my money request ! I think i will cancel my Account and take my Large account deposit to a more considerate and caring Bank! (poor old Halifa!!! )
