Nice branch

In a city where Yorkshire Bank actually has its' HQ (not open to the public nearby), one would expect a much larger, cooler branch than this one which is located on Briggate, towards the left end of the street close to Tesco and Starbucks in Leeds city centre. This is the only Yorkshire Bank store serving Leeds centre, with the nearest other stores three miles away in Hunslet, a little surprising given the fact many rival banks have more than one branch such as Halifax who have 3, Natwest who have 2 and so on. The branch is set out a little strangely, you walk into the store and there's an area of nothing, a sort of hallway you have to go through again, surely this store could be constructed better like most other banks to include this as part of the regular and larger shop floor? They do try to promote the new brand the bank has here, which is called B which is more of a digital bank, surely they're missing a trick not to have a "B" branch here, I love their store in Manchester which is the nearest exclusive "B" brand store, but still not having one in Yorkshire given the banks name is a little strange. The store at hand is okay, it's a pretty much average bank, it isn't too modern, yet it isn't stuck in the past, the few cash machines they do have (around 2) seem to offer most banking activities in a modern way. Opening hours are slightly better than other nearby banks being open between 9 am and 5:30 pm during the week and 9:15 am and 4 pm on Saturday. Again, like many nearby banks, it seemed busier than it actually was due to it being slightly overstaffed, and having a staffed stand right near the entrance was a little strange, for me it was too close, you can barely walk into the branch (2nd door) without touching it, it's too close - and I still wasn't welcomed (no hello, or even a smile?) 2*

0 stars, I opened an account last week and everything was ok, i even transfer £400 the my new account. i was waiting for the letter with the debit card and the letter for the pin code, and the day i wanted to use it the card was not working, even i can't take money from the cash machine, when i go to ask in the office of yorkshire bank ( same office i opened my bank account) they told me that my account will be closed and i need to take all my money. I ask them what is the reason of closing my account ( i don't have even use it) but they don't know what is happening and they need to close my account. They just give me a paper to take my money and a terms and condicions book. I am very disapointed, so i don't recomend this bank, they don't even know what happens with the account of customers.

Asked my GF to put £400 in the bank for me. She put it in the counting machine. It counted £20 sort. She asked about the machine mistake. They would not tell her anything because it was not her card. She then kicked off and the bank closed my account because of my GF's behaviour. How can they do that when I was not there and it had nothing to do with me. When I phoned, I spoke to a very rude and aggressive woman from the counters and a even more disgusting female manager. I put a complaint in and the person dealing with has been on holiday for the last 5 days which means nothing has been done. I want this rectifying and account reinstating. Horrible staff at briggate.

Really slow service. Often only one cashier on at a time even during busy times.
