“Walked in looking for some good tequila and was met with a wall of it! Much better than the 4 at Morrison's. The staff was very friendly and even recommended a new brand I haven't heard of. They also directed us to some delicious champagne that wouldn't break the bank. We will absolutely be back whenever we're in town!”

“The Red Lion is very good. Haven't actually had a meal here, only coffee and cake after a walk but friends have been for meals and recommended it to me. They all do a Jazz night once a month which may interest some. Nice beer garden.”

“It's only fair to update Bargain Booze, given how often I visit this handy wee shop. The main premise of my being a fan is twofold -one, it's merely 7 minutes away from my house, and two, the lady who works here is awesome. They mightn't have an excellent range of goods-you can expect the basics of most things you might need - but you can always expect a friendly welcome. All the chaps that work here provide plenty of banter, and are always friendly and helpful! In terms of basics, come here for cheap booze deals on wine, beer, spirits, cigarettes, basic bathroom items, sweets, snacks, milk, bread, drinks, pet food, cards and more. Not the cheapest, but not as ridiculous as some places, and always there when you need. Open until 10pm most nights-a little later on a Saturday I do believe. I'm a happy customer.”

“I use this place for the Amazon locker, which is at the back of the shop. Other than that, it has a big variety of items available, even frozen food. From the outside it seems smaller than it is.”

“Such a great selection which is very unassuming from the window display. They are catering for a broad spectrum of customers to entice them in, so I think I got the wrong impression from what was displayed to the outside world. I was pleasantly surprised when I finally decided to head in. The service is delivered perfectly - the team tailor their conversations in such a way to make you feel comfortable and listened to. Considering they’re working within such a huge floor space, love that someone always whips across as if from nowhere to check in and aid you in your choices. Special mention to Nicky who was such a wonderful ambassador for Majestic, she printed off some tasting notes for the wines we together selected for my evening, which added to the excitement of trying them later on. My thoughts on her selection of Assyrtiko from Santorini are forthcoming (I’ll let you know next time I’m in Nicky). Thanks team :)”

“Ahhhhhh the corner shop! This for me is an awesome lil shop cause it's literally 2 min walk from my front door. Craving that chocolate bar had a long day looking for your favorite beverage this is my place of choice, need to get that bacon or milk cause it slipped your mind at the supermarket. I think every neighborhood needs one of these and in England I think every neighborhood seems to have one. So embrace your local mini super store I know I use mine daily. They may be more expensive then the big chains but they certainly are there for you in a pinch!!!”

It's not needed in the quantities used ,
Cooks over use it ,it isn't necessary, a touch is fine but they seem to assume, it imparts a sense of luxury,
There should be a choice
I ignore ready-made, and use decent potatoes,add to taste

“It would be a 5 if not for the worst member of staff in the world that worked there... Tracy Charlesworth I so feel your pain in your 1 star review - that particular member of staff was a horror show in every aspect possible. Thank goodness she's left -probably to be a Bailiff or something, she was the Worst. You'll remember her by the orange hue, dyed hair and just sucked a lemon facial expression. Good riddance I say ? she was super Rude ? everyone else there is lovely ?”

“My lovely glitzy trousers suit was bought for me as a gift from marks and Spencer in leeds. It’s beautiful quality and you can wear it together with the jacket fastened or you can put a top and wear the jacket open? And you can also wear it has separates I love it.”

“Just been to the gipton branch staff very helpful, manager aswell ie if I can't see anything on the shelfs I'm needing i just ask and they stop what they are doing and go look in the back of shop straight away for me .Shop is very clean and well stocked”
