Leeds BID (Business Improvement District) is a not-for-profit organization that aims to improve the city of Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK, for businesses, residents, and visitors. It was established in 2015 and is funded through a small levy on eligible businesses within the BID area.Leeds BID operates as an independent voice for businesses in the city center and works to create a safe, attractive, and welcoming environment for everyone. Some of the key initiatives that Leeds BID has implemented include:Promoting the city through marketing and events: Leeds BID has organized a range of events and marketing campaigns to attract visitors to the city, such as the Leeds International Festival and the Christmas Lights switch-on.Improving the cleanliness and safety of the city: Leeds BID has invested in additional street cleaning and security measures to make the city center a cleaner and safer place to visit.Supporting businesses: Leeds BID provides a range of services to businesses within the BID area, including training and development opportunities, networking events, and advocacy on behalf of businesses.Leeds BID works closely with a range of partners, including local authorities, police, and other business organizations, to achieve its goals. Its ultimate aim is to make Leeds a more attractive and successful city for everyone, whether they are visiting, living, or working there.

We visited Leeds yesterday, and we were very impressed by the gentleman in the yellow jacket who worked for Leeds bid, and showed us how to get to Granary Wharf and even provided us with a street map. It's really useful as a tourist to know that people are around to explain the layout, we are not that savy with Google maps! Great city, bit disappointed that the museums and art gallery are all shut on a Monday, but realise they are open 6 days a week, we will have to return.
