What an amazing place. I can?t put my finger on the reason. The atmosphere we?ll own dining room comfy lounge feel. It?s just lovely. We had a table for 9. The staff attentive caring absolutely lovable with nothing too much trouble. Table well presented. Menu for Sunday lunch 4/5 choices for starters, main and pudding and catered for vegetarians and coeliacs alike. I chose the pea soup which was piping hot absolutely delicious with a crusty piece of bread. Pork for mains with fabulous crackling. Sticky toffee pudding omg the best I?ve ever tasted?. All washed down with a glass of white wine. Will we be back you bet we will. Thankyou.

Thank you so much to all the team for the warm welcome, gorgeous food, and for the extra special touches made for my daughter at the final family get-together at the end of her 'hen' weekend. A perfect ending before she returns to Italy.

Very disappointed. Colder inside than out. Very mediocre meal. Pie was just pasty on top of filling. Burger was boring - 2 small lettuce leaves and 3 slices of tomato. Never again.

We booked Sunday lunch here to finish off a weekend for a special family occasion at Oulton Hall. The food was excellent and the staff were very professional dealing with our party of 16, which included three young children and a baby. The restaurant is obviously very well managed, judging by our experience. Thanks to Lee-Ann, Jessi and Alyssq, for enabling us to finish a memorable weekend in such a pleasant way. Compliments also to the chef and kitchen staff.

It was a really busy night but Janine and Phil were great and looked after us and everyone else even though they were clearly run off their feet.

An excellent family meal for three. Meaty tasty burger 10/10.Fish and chips were a great size and really good value. Service was quick and friendly. Overall a great experience , thank you. The only negative was the cheese and biscuits which at £12.50 were a bit of a let down. Half a dozen crackers, small cheese portions and no garnish , this needs to be reviewed and changed asap. Expensive at half the price unless we?re received the wrong size portion?

Family trip out to grab a Sunday lunch.Good offer on for 3 coursesStaff were friendly and helpful, and made our toddler happy in her high chair. Had the full 3 courses, starters of the mushroom and ciabatta were tasty.Staff accommodated our daughter by bringing her childs roast dinner, with our starter- she takes ages to eat.We all had roasts a mix of beef and pork. Came with a tray of trimmings which was a healthy size with 2 big jugs of gravy. We couldnt eat it all, so they provided a doggybag for chomping later. Sorry didnt get a chance to take a pic of the mains as our daughter nicked the phone to watch kids shows grrrDesserts we had cheesecake and a Clementine tart. Both were nice, but the tart was delicious.As an ale drinker I would have preferred better options as their focus leans towards common commercial lagers.The venue is great too, with nice window views.Overall a lovely visit and a big thumbs up. Thanks!

We went for lunch. We hadn't booked, but there were plenty of tables. We sat inside so we didn't have the lovely view but we were cool and it is still a pleasant room. We were looked after by Lee-Ann, who was very nice and attentive, she took our orders and made sure we had everything we needed. We both has the crispy fish finger wraps, they came with chips and tartare sauce. We added a portion of onion rings too. The wraps were hot, tasty and crispy. The onion rings were good too, with 1 portion plenty for both. I finished with an Eton mess, and I wasn't sharing, lovely light sweet to finish.

Whilst staying at Oulton Hall we took advantage of dining at The Claret Jug . On arrival we were greeted by Phil ( our waiter for the evening),who was extremely courteous and helpful throughout the meal , the meal was presented and cooked well , there was a good selection to suit everyone.

The picture is an £16 cheese board, yes I am thinking the same as anyone else ??. How they think they can serve this is incredible. Don?t come here for food! They have also ran out of mayonnaise?? How can this get any worse??.

Great atmosphere, very friendly staff and good value. We had the vegan burger and some sides they were very tasty and the staff were very attentive.

We were staying at Oulton Hall with our greyhound and needed to have her with us while we had dinner because she?d be anxious if left in our room alone. We were told that we couldn?t take our dog into the restaurant area, which is fair enough. Four of us sat in a corner near the bar downstairs, which was very cosy and our dog had space to lie down. The staff were friendly and our food came really quickly. We had burgers and fish and chips, the food was great. I?d recommend this place.
