Nice enough food and location, but far too expensive. Was not impressed that a service charge was included without firstly seeing our bills. Very sneaky. £19 for a small burger and handful of chips.

Breakfast is fantastic really sets you up for the day, nice staff too Dinner was also spot on we were fed up with the Christmas stuff so went for salads and burgers, the room was very relaxed, and felt so nice, after dinner we relaxed in the lounge area and played board games, then up to bed, there are disadvantages to nice places like this, you do not want to go out, just stay in the hotel

Disinterested staff, who leave you sitting there for half an hour in an empty room, with only two other clients. Go to bar to order food fed up at being ignored. Wait another 10 minutes before asking whether your drink was coming, receive apologies by manager and offer of that glass coming free. Was served with a slow cooked rib of beef which had obviously been heated in the microwave and was therefore like chewing on a tyre, to be told by sighing waitress that it?s a bit tough because it?s cooked sous vide. I thought that technique was meant to make it ridiculously tender, but then what would I know? Couldn?t eat any of the meat sensibly, so left all of it on the plate, but was still charged full amount. Was also charged for the ?free? glass of wine until I asked for it to be taken off the bill. Incompetent staff, awful food, dreadful all round and to be avoided at all costs.

City 3 Restaurant is the main restauraunt serving the Hilton Leeds City, it is located next to the reception area on the third floor of the hotel, sadly they hadn't made the most of being on a slightly high floor as there was virtually no views of the city, but the same could be said for my suite in the hotel which was much higher, after being woken up by incredible levels of noise in my hotel room, I later found out was the housekeeping drilling at 8 am and corridor noises, I had to get out of my room so I rejected the hotels offer of sending breakfast up to my room, even though it sounded like a treat. I paid £5.50 for breakfast in with my room-rate, which was discounted heavily for some reason, I know it is around 3x that if you do turn up or don't get the offer I have, of course, Gold and Diamond HHonors members get it for free. Breakfast here was probably the worst I've had from a "Hilton" hotel, and probably up there with the worst, I've had from any Hilton all-together including other brands like Doubletree and Hampton, which as they are brands which are commonly franchises anyway they are usually hit and miss. I found all the eggs to taste really greasy, they all had a funny taste too, the scrambled eggs were revolting, they weren't even one set colour and I had to end up spitting them out, they tasted like thick, revolting dish-water, and sadly the fried eggs weren't much better, with the yokes being overcooked and the egg whites carrying the same taste. Even the fruit juice tasted watered down and the beans tasted hard - I just managed to drink a cup of tea before going into the city, the teabags were the average Twinings tea, there was much fewer to choose from again compared to other hotels, with only Earl Grey and English Breakfast, luckily I love Earl Grey. Beverages were self-serve, compared to many hotels where staff get them for you. The omelette I ordered was the same, it was so greasy that you'd think it was a takeout pizza, the grease left a mess on the plate - the only thing they'd done right is by including less cheese, but still, it was horrible, it was greasy, so greasy that even your average greasy spoon wouldn't screw up an omelette that bad. The staff seemed okay, compared to the rest of the hotel I found the staff to be excellent - they didnt have any gluten-free sweet options and when I enquired, I didn't even get an apology, I just got a simple "No" For the quality, I still felt robbed paying around £5.50 for this breakfast as I basically couldn't eat anything due to the horrible tastes and greasiness of most of the items I tried, also considering the disgusting orange juice which tasted more like water (why do they do this to save money - it wasn't even a cordial either which would have been worse again), and the service not being as good as the main hotel, City 3 deserves a single one-star rating, they've also missed the opportunity by not having a decent view and the fact they often charge £15-17 for breakfast according to their website for walk-ins is just insulting. 1*
