The atmosphere is peaceful, the seating is comfortable, and being surrounded by books makes it feel extra special. A perfect little spot to relax, read, and unwind.”

“The place is lovely with plenty of stock and helpful staff. I love the layout of the store. I love the amount of area there is to play. The prize support is amazing too. Unfortunately the lack of air-conditioning or fans made it hard to spend much time playing with so many players there. I would love for it to do hot food too then I would spend all day in there without travelling anywhere else. Thank you so much for being so welcoming of a store and being supportive of the players.”

“Great variety of books from art and design, history, travel and non fiction. The stock is second hand but have never had an issue with items being damaged or in poor condition.”

“Great stock, great prices, but could do with a bit less plastic wrapping on things. A lot of their stock could be tied together woth a piece of string instead for example”

“I visited this Oxfam branch the other day and it's really improved. The atmosphere is really friendly and there's a lot to look at. Everything is well organised and presented well too. There's some cool pictures hanging up to promote the unwrapped gifts an little kids can get involved colouring them in it was really cute.”

The young lady behind the counter in an awesome Sonic The Hedgehog hoodie was very pleasant. Great to see some enthusiastic staff/volunteers in a charity shop.”

“Well well well, Cross Gates. It seems as though we are going to have to make friends, no? What with your array of charity shop delights along one small street! Yep, and the British Heart Foundation is another of many which pleased me so greatly on my premier trip to Cross Gates of Leeds. The store itself was nicely tidy and easy to browse, with the exception of some of the clothes near the window. All the size 8s were packed virtually behind their window display and behind where the door needed to open so that was a bit tricksy for me to get in there! Nevertheless, as a hardened charity shopper I was determined to browse, and browse I did! One of the main featured bargains seemed to be their many luggage holders, suitcases and the like, all on display at cheaper (by a few pounds at least) than Priceless Shoes just nearby. So cheap, it seems, that one was snapped up even as I browsed! They had the standard gemstone jewellery on display too - something unique to BHF as I've seen a few with this, which is lovely too. They've all kinds of different gemstone necklaces and other bits in rose quartz, amethyst and more! Their other main feature seemed to be a pretty substantial shoe display, again potentially to compete with Priceless Shoes, and there was certainly a good range on show! Other cool oddments, such as decent mirrors, books, wedding hats and so on, were available too. I went away really pleased having found myself a pure silk Jaeger long suit jacket - which is utterly gorgeous - for only £4.50. Bargains ahoy! Staff were totally lovely too. Bonus!”

“For the love of WHS, please take a moment to go outside and notice how uninviting your shop is.
Middle of the day and the place looks closed due to the place looking like it's in total darkness. Get some brighter lights, and get some creative minds to work on your windows.
I am writing this in the hope that you might see an increase in traffic because I had to take a couple of looks to see if you are open or not. I just thought it was waiting to get boarded up.”

“I am a voluntary worker at the Armley Town Street british heart foundation charity shop Armley and I work from 9.30am to 1.00pm afternoon I price the cds and dvds and books and I fill the shelves up and rotation every 3 weeks, Owen.”

“There is something about charity shops that makes me feel good. I'm not sure whether it's the bargains, or the pleasure in seeing stuff being given a new life, it might be just that it enables me to feel good about myself..... BHF is one of my regular charities so i try to call in and have a browse rarely leaving without treasure, this branch always has a good selection and the staff seem very pleasant.”

“Love this shop for writing pads, books, pens, all the fancy stationary it provides and some have Post offices which is handy, My husband loves getting his magazines here every week, I must admit i do love shopping in Smiths..”

“A very nice little store with affordable items and a decent selection, but not the best charity shop I've been to - it's two shops made into one, which is probably the reason for the higher than normal prices, so overall it gets a 4 ?'s rating, which isn't great but isn't bad, either!”

“I like this charity shop because there's always really friendly staff on (the NSPCA shop next door has a grumpy lady in, and not as many nice clothes). Also, there are plenty of books, and they put them in alphabetical order, which is a ncie touch. For Valentine's Day, you can have a message written on a heart-shaped card and stuck in the window for a £1 (or £2 for the big hearts if you're feeling generous and super romantic).”
