Food absolutely shocking , cook and servant very long hair not even tied up all down looked like she had just got out bed and walked in forgot to do hair and look presentable definitely against health n hygiene with such long hair loose and serving n cooking food , (food burnt bacon solid all awful)

What a joke for dinners. Don't bother. We requested a quiet area in our reservation because our grandma is deaf/hard of hearing and can't sit in busy areas or she can't hear. Gave our table away to someone else/ignored the booking request.
Food came cold yet somehow overdone too. Whacking cranberry sauce on nachos (vile) and chicken nuggets does not a festive meal make. Some sent back to be microwaved and returned no warmer. Poor staff run ragged and disorganised. No glasses, 20 mins for a pint.
It's understandable that sometimes things don't go to plan, but when you prebook a month in advance and pay decent money for it, you don't expect this.
Seriously need better management and a general overhaul. Dalesway had been middling at best for the past 20 years. Just when it seemed to be getting back on track, back to square one. Won't be back.

Poor meat portions served on the xmas carvery. Not sure what they thought they were doing today on the carvery for Xmas dinner. People paid 50 odd pound for this and they think it's acceptable to serve the most measily portion of meat I've ever seen, it was actually an insult. The beef was too dry and served as a bit of stringy beef and the gammon and turkey was served in what I would say was less than half a slice.
Really let down the meal and feel ripped off.

A pre booked table for 10 all meals pre ordered. We got a plate with 4 overcooked cremated) chicken tenders and dollop of cranberry jelly no garnish just dumped con the plate all other starters were cold so not bad but not great. Our mains were all cold Yorkshire puddings that you could have built a house with pigs in blankets that were dry and cremated ( nearly as bad as the chicken)veg that was cold and tough as old boots even when we sant the meals back to be re heated they came back cold. Deserts took about 40 mins to come out but they were edible. The bar had no suitable glassware and staff didn't seem bothered or organised.

Come here quite often with our grandchildren.
The food is ok but often a shortage of staff so tables often left uncleared.
The reason why I am writing this review is to highlight what I think is a serious issue.
On a number of occasions the nappy bin on the baby changing room is full to capacity with soiled nappies spilling out.
I have told staff a couple of times but the situation remains the same.
I was actually told by a member of staff that the bin was emptied by an outside company once a week.
Once a week.....improvement drastically needed......

It is advertised as a family pub, which it isn't and been told to be quiet when my children were having a good time. Also no good for families with children with special needs like adhd and autism. Overall not a good atmosphere

Overall 5 star rating! Portions size was great for the price we paid, staff were welcoming and friendly, and Pam in the childrens play area was very good. Play area size is quite good and lovely little area for toddlers to play safely too! I will be returning!

Very average, food was OK, service was OK.

Some of the staff are polite, happy and helpful. One in particular doesn't smile, and I saw her pull a face and make irate fists to a customer when she walked away. He asked for more serviettes.
The food is not too bad and takes a very long time to arrive.
They seem to leave empty plates for a long time once they have been finished with often walking past empty-handed, as well as only part clearing tables, leaving someone else to complete. There is no teamwork.
The whole bar, food, and drinks area need a very good deep clean. All they do is a quick wipe, not even thinking of wiping split drinks from the bar or the tables.
The drinks machines need s a good clean outside and around the bases, black grime is present, behind the till is harbouring weeks of dust. Just a good spring clean and housekeeping would aid them
The hand sanitiser pump stand has dripped and not been cleaned since I arrived Monday, and the base hasn't been moved in months. The grime around the base and floor is black
Health and Safety is a no, all walking over the up turned long handled dustpan and hoover. I actually moved to stop an accident.
Management really needs to address these issues and be more customer focused, food hygiene aware, and ask if we are happy with our meals and make conversation. It a shame could be a nice, clean, welcoming atmosphere.
