This place used to be amazing but now is just crap/strange music played very loud.
Conversation is impossible
The staff try to be friendly but are completely useless.
They once took payment for a drink, the staff said they'd be back after changing the barrel, they never returned. After 30 minutes I asked for a refund on the drink and they looked all embarrassed and disappeared again, it was completely bizarre.
The front entrance to this pub is completely dystopian, it's like going into a naff solicitors office.

Bar T'at hosts a very popular quiz night on a Monday, definitely recommend booking a table. The bar has a good selection of ales and lagers on tap and also offers some bottled options.

Came in with a group of 8.
1 hour between first person being served and last person being served. Staff apologised but no compensation (or free round) given. Asked about the delay at the 45 min mark and was told 'the chef just came back'.
Food was okay. Great burgers but sides were lacking. Burgers do come with chips so over ordered (staff did not comment when I put the order in).
Drinks were great, but would not recommend coming here to eat

Ordered on Just eat, after an hour and a half I rang them to be told they had no drivers available to deliver. Serious lack of communication.

Bar Tat has been a staple in my life for over 20 years, and while the beer remains excellent, particularly the selection from Vocation Brewery, the experience has recently been undermined by an unfortunate shift in atmosphere.
The issue isn't the quality of the beer ? it?s top-notch, as always. The problem lies with the music. The staff seem to have taken it upon themselves to curate a playlist that channels the feel of a 1970s rock pub. While I have no objection to a bit of Asia or Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, the relentless volume and choice of obscure B-sides are overwhelming. It's often far too loud, making conversation impossible and creating an uncomfortable environment for what should be a relaxing pint.
It leaves me wondering if this is part of a poorly executed rebrand or simply staff imposing their personal preferences at the expense of the customers' experience. Whatever the reason, it feels out of step with what this pub once was.
Bar Tat has always stood for great beer and a welcoming atmosphere, and while one half of that remains intact, the other is faltering. For now, I?ll keep coming back for the beer, but I hope they reconsider the approach to music before it drives more long-standing patrons away.

Very poor I ordered 2 pints of bitter mine was fine but my friends was off.He took it back to the bar and the barmaid was going to change it but the manager said no there was nothing wrong with it. I took mine back to show him how much cleare it was but he wouldn't listen. I have never known service as poor as this before and have spoken to landlords and landladies of other pubs and they all said you should change a pint for a customer if they ask.

Didn't buy food. Sat outside and had a beer or 2. Can't comment on the overall offer as it was a quick beer early doors

Excellent place for food and beers.

Bar Tat has been a pretty consistent part of the Ilkley pub scene for a considerable number of years and for many of those a place of real atmosphere. Now, sadly, it's trying to be something I don't think it can ever be in a small town - a mass-market city centre bar catering for bar-crawl clients with a need for junk-food. We gave it a chance and and ate there after a gym session so weren't looking for posh nosh whilst still in our shorts but what we were served was poor indeed. Street food, including burgers can be some of the best food around but this was poor mass market fayre served via an overly complex, prepay app that didn't work, on flimsy trays. A poor, unimaginative menu from Slap and Pickle. We won't eat there again. A real shame.

Had a dreadful experience recently. Tried to give feedback on messenger but got no response.

Nice manager and decent selection of keg beer, but unfortunately the food (which was excellent) has just become greasy burgers in plastic baskets. Normally I wouldn't care if a pub even has food if it's got good beer and a good atmosphere, but the new decor makes it a little less pleasant just to have a drink in. And the food previously was really nice so it does feel like a loss.

Been a regular at this pub for 20 plus years. It has had a refit and now resembles a " tarts boudoir ". The cask beer is terrible and there is a mass of fizzy larger to choose from. The sink at the back of the bar stank of drains as did the outside seating area. The staff are friendly but clueless. After 25 years of spending my hard earned cash here I will not be giving them my business anymore. This was a busy well liked pub ..... not anymore.

Aaaargh! The Bar T'at used to offer a good range of food, with frequently-changing specials, but no more! They're franchising out the food to some burger company! The (new?) manageress says they'll be good, but guess what: we customers don't always want a burger! BAD MOVE! If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Also: I was in on the last 'old' food night and it was absolutely chaotic!
