I?d lost my sunglasses and desperately needed a new pair. They saw me straight away and we quickly ordered the replacement. They?re great.
A week later my normal sunglasses lost a screw. Once again the service was top notch and they were fixed in no time and no charge. Highly recommended.

When I first visited Specsavers Opticians and Audiologists, I thought I had simply been unlucky. My appointment was overshadowed by a staff member with bright blue hair whose manner was so condescending it turned even the most routine questions into a trial. Every answer was delivered with a sigh, every explanation laced with disdain. I left wondering if this was a one-off or something deeper.
So I investigated. I spoke with a series of customers, past and present, to find out if my experience was unique. What I discovered was a consistent thread: others had dealt with the same staff member and described encounters eerily similar to mine. One customer said they felt ?talked down to like a child,? another told me they left the store more confused about their prescription than when they went in, simply because the tone of the conversation had been so dismissive. Several even confessed they had avoided returning altogether, preferring to travel further afield rather than endure that treatment again.
And this wasn?t limited to one staff member. In my conversations, people pointed to a broader culture of indifference. Long waits were shrugged off, questions often went unanswered, and communication between staff seemed muddled and careless. The picture that emerged was not of an isolated incident, but of a pattern.
Specsavers presents itself as a trusted, reassuring provider. But after listening to so many accounts, it is clear that for many customers, reassurance is the last thing they find here. Instead, they leave feeling belittled, unheard, and in some cases, unwilling to return.
As The Rating Ranger, I look for patterns - and here the pattern was loud and clear. Spectrasavers does not just have a customer service problem; it has a respect problem. Until that is addressed, it will remain an organisation that tests patience rather than improving vision or hearing.

Took my child to Specsavers and had a great experience. The staff were kind and patient, the eye test was clear and there was a good range of children?s frames, and the team helped us pick out something that fit well and suited my child. Overall, it was a smooth and reassuring visit.

I attended specsavers Huddersfield with an eye emergency, was seen by kind professional staff who quickly identified the issue and made a fast referral to hospital, with surgery within 48hrs. The team were efficient and reassuring during a worrying time. Absolutely outstanding thank you.

I had an eye test and OCT scan here recently with Hamza who was brilliant, he was warm friendly and explained everything clearly. It had been a while since I?d had my eyes tested so it was reassuring to have it all explained so well! His service was genuinely 10/10.
When I went back to choose and buy glasses the experience wasn?t as positive. I was looking for a specific style and when my sister asked one of the staff about it their response was rude and unprofessional.
There were comments and laughing while we were browsing which made the process uncomfortable, for someone trying glasses again after a long time it already felt overwhelming and that kind of behaviour didn?t help.
Thankfully the brilliant Jonathan helped me with my order and he was very polite and supportive! I did eventually find a pair I liked but the overall shopping experience was disappointing which was a shame as I had been looking forward to it.
Hamza and Jonathans service deserves praise but unfortunately one staff member?s attitude really let the team down, do better Specsavers Huddersfield.

Whole staff were very helpful. They could do with special offers/prices for the OAPs. Many times they don?t buy the new pairs because of the high prices.

Annual eye check wasn't waiting long. The optician was very thorough and had everything he needed to do my eye exam.
When it came to getting some new glasses the guy was OK but after last time I told him I did not want any changes to the extras I have on my lenses and no hard sell.

Excellent customer service at this branch of Specsavers. It is incredibly well organised and plenty of staff on hand to assist. Good range of frames and standard and coloured contacts. Parking right next door in the Sainsburys car park.
