I only go here when absolutely essential as I find the attitude awful by some
members of staff. They put the rudest ones on the customer facing rolls, surely they should be restocking not serving. To be fair a couple are perfectly nice but my goodness a few are just unbelievably abrupt and abrasive. I reluctantly visited today for the first time in months despite living 800 yards away and true to form just argumentative and difficult. I simply don?t understand it.

Called in to buy some food from the store but desperate for the toilet so used the one's in the cafe only to be told that the toilets are only for people using the cafe ?

Bizarre experience in this shop..the store itself is nice enough and a good selection of products. We struggled at the self checkouts which were very sensitive and constantly beeping, telling us to remove or put items back into the bags. Did a member of staff helpfully come over and explain how to avoid this? No, bizzarely the young girl staffing them chose to come and impatiently and rudely tell me it was my fault. She had a unfriendly, unprofessional manner and argued with me when I explained I wasn't touching the till when it started beeping. After two odd interactions she then went over to her colleague and was clearly discussing us.
My teenage children were embarrassed, I was annoyed and although they agreed she was very rude, they just wanted to get out. Otherwise I would have taken her name and complained. Really poor staff representation for the co-op. Maybe she was having a bad day or inexperienced however in most workplaces you wouldn't get away with such poor customer service. It was 4pm on a bank holiday Monday, very quiet so can't put staff behaviour down to being mithered or stressed either! And certainly not down to age, most young people know arguing with customers is an absolute no! Thank goodness these days most staff know how to interact appropriately and pleasantly, really not a big ask!

Coop store in in the centre of Holmfirth. Parking is plentiful outside of the store however you do have to pay. This can be refunded in the store however but we didn?t choose to whilst we?re were there. Really convenient placed in the town and as far as Co-op stores go this is a really nice store! Had a cafe in side and plenty of choice on shelves.

The ignorant duty manager refused to open the toilets for someone with a hidden disability. If you are disabled avoid this branch run by a man clearly on a massive power trip. I shall be forwarding a complaint to head office citing the equality act.

I called last week to pick up some items using the self-service and noticed that we had picked up the wrong item. We couldn't figure out how to delete it, so we looked for a member of staff. One lady was busy on the till, and another staff member was on the phone. We waited for her to finish and asked if she could delete the item. She came over, but didn't acknowledge either of us, just took the item and went off without saying hello or making eye contact. We both found this behavior extremely rude and were quite unimpressed.

Ive got to be honnest here and give full credit to the co op friendly staff the cafe is way more than fair on pricing i couldnt believe how cheap the food was and it was tasty im very happy to recommend this store and cafe they dont need any negative comments or reviews its amazing

Disgusting service from Julie at the checkout. The most arrogant and passive aggressive comments I've ever experienced in a service industry. This employee needs immediate retraining at the very least, if I ran this shop she'd be fired on the spot. A disgrace to the brand, a disgrace to holmfirth, and a disgrace to humanity in general.

8am no fresh bread or pastries or hot breakfast items. Reduced gone-off items from day before still on shelf. Good value cafe.
