Aldi Huddersfield now has a self checkout system. Single shoppers are much happier to avoid behind behind large trolleys at checkout.
The quality of food is excellent. I refer to the Gallagher trading store.

I reviewed Aldi 1 year ago it was average, I since been back afew time and I find it although cheap the reason is. It sells cheap sub standard food, at a lower quality so it can reduce it overall cost but that does not mean you are getting a bargain, you are just getting cheaper cuts and lower quality that's all. Choice is limited compared to their competitors and there is a lack of organic food on offer.

Got asked to lift up empty bags in the trolley to ensure I hadn?t stolen anything prior to putting through a full shop on the checkout. Disgraceful, was with my 5 year old at the time and made to feel like a petty criminal for trying to pay for my shopping. Won?t use this store again, they?ve obviously got an issue with thieving and rather than targeting the thieves have decided ticking boxes is the right approach to reduce it.

Said it was open until 9pm on bank holiday hours when I arrived lights were on but 1 worker sent us away?
Absolutely disgraceful as its only 8pm right now it's open for another hour!! So shame on you manager, also when I went in last the staff were rude when I asked where all the stock was!! This place should be shut down for lies and rudness and no stock!!

Great store, staff are so polite and friendly, always happy to help.
Shame is becoming a destination for aggressive beggers and violent shop lifters. Very sad sign of our current time
