Disgusting ! Chips burnt and rock hard. Peas Rock hard. Steak and kidney pie only two and a golf inches in diameter and only contained 1cm cube of steak and two miniscule morsels of of kidney. Ate the tiny non existent pieces of meat and left everything else. And the price was extortionate.

We had a family meal at the Old Halfway House and had a fantastic experience. The food was brilliant and the service was very polite friendly and professional.

Had an all day breakfast which was top notch and everything cooked just right. My son had garlic ciabatta and chips. The chips were homemade and lovely, but a big shout-out to the garlic ciabatta, which was the most garlicky of garlic breads I've ever tasted! Absolutely beautiful.

Relaxing and friendly environment. Prompt service of generous portions ofquality food. Appreciated the staff reducing the volume of the music which itself was quite of the easy listening variety. Will definitely eat here again.

Lovely atmosphere, I was meeting with friends for a chat & the young lady who served us was happy to turn the music down a little, which was great. She was friendly, very helpful & had a good vibe. We ordered from the lunch menu that was reasonably priced, the ciabatta sandwiches where really good, I had the steak sandwich with curly fries.One of friend's had a fish finger one; not like your normal fish fingers these where chunky & crispy? I will be going back for that one. The halloumi sandwich ordered by my other friend looked good too, will try that, one day too?

I have passed this pub many times but not been in until now.
Had a very warm welcome and ordered Philly Steak sandwich and chips. The steak was perfectly cooked and the sandwich was lovely. The star of the show was the amazing chips, I don't know how they cook them but they were fantastic. My friend also enjoyed her fish finger sandwich and also commented on the chips.
Unfortunately there were only another two people dining which is a shame as the standard was high and perfectly priced

Dropped in for a light lunch on a Friday, not busy. Staff pleasant and attentive, food and drinks were enjoyable and good value. Will certainly return.
