A nice quiet meal on a Monday evening before I went off to the boat for a few days. We were served by Nahum who was very attentive and helped sort out the app on my phone too! The food was all tasty and ample portions meant that after 2 courses neither of us had space for a desert! The only hiccup was an ?off? glass of French Pinot Noir which was changed quickly and with no fuss for one from a new bottle.

Thought i would give the bull's head another go , wish i hadn't bothered i was with family so didn't want to make a fuss whilst there, we all had fish and chips waited about 20 minutes it wasn't busy, when it arrived i thought they had brought children's portions mushy peas in a tiny dish an egg cup full it tasted sweet not mushy peas , the fish well it was very small and tasteless hardly any batter on it, and frozen chips for 14.95 never again .

Restaurant is really nicely decorated, but sadly this is where the compliment ends.
Service was ok.
Food ?was extremely poor..
The kids ?sized? starters of garlic mushrooms with overcooked baguette and ?king prawn? cocktail
(standard small frozen prawns) with shop bought marie rose sauce - i give 3/10
The mains of sunday roast beef lunch with the most bland gravy i have ever tasted and hung mixed skewered kebab with more courgette than meat and dried side salad - no rice or potatoe accompaniment !! (Unless bought for an extra £4 per portion!!) i would give 2/10 at best
Dessert: trio of puddings (shared between the 2 of us - 7/10 (was the best of a bad meal)
Drinks 2x lime and lemons
I know £70 per couple is the norm these days
But you do expect some sort of quality, and value which was both missing in abundance!!
Sadly based on our experience, i would not use the ego chain of restaurants again neither would i recommend to family and friends

Haven't been to the Bulls head since it's makeover. Ego is fantastic. Great food, chicken kebab was good and the Eton mess was amazing ?. Service was excellent and it is beautifully done inside. Definitely worth a visit. Make sure to sign up to the loyalty scheme for 20% off. The price was very reasonable for the quality of food with the voucher.
